Nobel Peace prizewinner Elie Wiesel's foundation was wiped out. Screenwriter Eric Roth learned he took a serious haircut the same day he was nominated for a Golden Globe award. And real estate and publishing magnate Mort Zuckerman said his charity lost $30 million, or 10% of its assets—without his even knowing the trust had investments managed by Bernard Madoff.

Nine West Group mogul Jerome Fisher reportedly lost $150 million, according to unnamed sources in the New York Post.

The Lautenberg Foundation had 92% of its assets under Madoff's management in 2006, according to the charity's tax records, according to Associated Press reports.
