Barnes & Noble rewriting the book on how it runs its retail business?

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Barnes & Noble is reducing the number of titles that it carries in stores and is clearing floor space for board games and display tables for its e-book reader, the Nook.

Some fear that could drive more readers to Amazon to buy good, old-fashion hardcovers and paperbacks online. Barnes & Noble is already waging an uphill battle against Amazon in the e-book space.
