Fund Screener

Yahoo! Finance’s Fund Screener is a fully-customizable fund analyzer. You can determine everything you want to look for in a successful fund—from fund-manager tenure to fund expenses.

The benefit of running

Yahoo! Finance’s Top Performers before turning to the fund screener is you can narrow down your searching so you can focus solely on those funds that make the most sense for you in your portfolio.

The first step in the Fund Screener asks you to identify the “Category” of funds you would like to search. Knowing which categories are performing well will dramatically cut down your screening time.

The Fund Screener can provide extremely detailed analysis, but don’t feel you need to enter a specification for every item on listed on the tool. In fact, if you try to become to specific in your screening, you will limit the number of results the tool will bring back to analyze. You may even have no results.

Identify the two or three things that are most important to you in your investing, and focus on those in your screening. If fees and Morningstar ratings are most important to you, enter criteria in those fields and leave the others blank. If manager tenure and asset turnover are more important to you, focus on those criteria. To access the Fund Screener video, click here.

Once you have entered your criteria and run the Fund Screener , you are now ready to analyze the charts of each of the funds.
