    Consumer Price index is the most frequently used indicator of inflation and reflect changes in the cost of acquiring a fixed basket of goods and services by the average consumer. The weights are usually derived from household expenditure surveys. Average measure of pure change in prices of goods and services bought for the purpose of consumption by the resident households in Switzerland. The data covers all private households residing permanently in Switzerland. The survey covers all goods and services bought by the reference population for the purposes of consumption; expenditure on direct taxes, cash gifts, gambling and illegal activities are excluded. Food, fuel and gasoline prices are collected monthly; other prices on a quarterly basis; price collection during the first eight days of the month.
