I never forget Dr. Hernandez and his efforts saving Athena's life. I will be forever grateful. I'm glad I wasn't touched by the financial aspects of this company and only the people doing amazing science.
Your good at reading comprehension..."so in June of 2015 Shire thru a 3rd party disposed of shares?" Take a look at the new POS SEC filing.
Axe my wife. The POS SEC filing the same day as settlement date for short interest....and the volume is already 600K...make sure you take a shower to get the scuzz off.
If someone is selling, someone is buying. How do "they" drive the price down? And who are the they? I don't understand. Do you know an article that describes how this is done?
Also, is it not possible that rumours on Friday caused the pps to go up over 10%, and now there is FUD to those rumours, so the pps retreats?
Your kidding , right? I would hope you understand that entities that short a stock...sell it first...then buy it back in a defined(by volume) time limit....with the intent to "purchase" at a lower price.

What is the amendment for? I gather it is to inform investors that reregistration is required by the issuer of stock...the value of the company has fallen below 700 million in market cap...:
"This Post-Effective Amendment No. 1 to the Registration Statement on Form S-3 (Commission File No. 333-202466) (the “Registration Statement”) of BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is being filed for the purpose of amending the Registration Statement to reflect that the registrant is no longer a well-known seasoned issuer, as defined in Rule 405 under the Securities Act, because the worldwide market value of its outstanding common stock held by non-affiliates was less than $700 million as of the registrant’s most recent determination date. This Post-Effective Amendment is being filed to convert the Registration Statement to a non-automatic shelf registration statement."
No I am not kidding. If 90% of the shares are owned by institutions, they would have to loan the shares to short sellers. So what you're saying is that institutions are both loaning and shorting at the same time, or some are shorting and others are loaning their shares. Why would the loaners want to support short activity? If the price goes down enough, the loaners themselves might get margin calls, yes?
Are you then saying that the short sellers had to settle last Friday to avoid getting buy-ins, and that's why the pps went up 15%. And today, it's back to short selling as usual?
Settlement date is at the EOD today. Go to NASDAQ and look up short interest for BCRX. There is another page for short interest publication schedule.
"So what you're saying is that institutions are both loaning and shorting at the same time, or some are shorting and others are loaning their shares. Why would the loaners want to support short activity?" Do you know who the 8+ million shorts are? Who benefits if the price falls...retail? Did you not see the losses booked by the funds on the yahoo summary page. Sell...book the loss...buyback in 30 days and ride it up.
Do you really think the value of BCRX is $2? Come On Mannnnnnn!
Sorry for the pain and suffering your family went through. The fact that Peramivir took so long to be approved is a statement to the power of greed. I took a position in BCRX because of Peramivir...my loyalty to the science is why I remain. The con game is shamefully a package deal.
I do not blame you Husky. Getting married to a biotech is like having a nagging wife. I only trade options here and only because it has such a low PPS am I able to buy a good amount within a reasonable volatility. I am tracking the options volume to see if there will be a run but so far nada. Cannot believe this CEO still has a job.
Yes, 4430 will be in the mix.
Right now they're deciding on the proper animal study to test for effectiveness (of course this may have already been accomplished and antivirals tested).
4430 showed excellent results against Yellow Fever in a hamster model, BCRX has "reasonably high expectations" that there is interest in the 4430 program.
Right now CDC expects about 20% of the Puerto Rico population to be infected by the end of the year (1 in 5). That doesn't look good for the U.S. and Summer is Coming.
By the time this meeting takes place they want to do more than just talk, they want solid plans, so I expect we'll hear results before this meeting.
