GTAT did fairly well as a company until it's 'leadership' decided to bet the farm on a partnership with one company. I sold just before it tanked, but still took a hit.
Quality stocks are a safer approach, but even GTAT was in that category at one point. Better to also diversify, including into funds and non-equities holdings. Don't bet the farm on anything controlled by Wall St. GL
My financial advisor was pro GTAT and pumping it, but he changed his mind before I bought. I feel sorry for those who did. I got burnt on a gold stock that was being pumped on CNBC. Got burnt on a biotech and sold it, but lucky me, the dang thing rebounded after I sold it. Basically, I know how it tastes to have to eat one of these turds. Stick with quality. I hope you guys catch a break though and make a mint.
