you've been timing trades well! i just sold some of my lower cost buys so as not to be too heavily weighted in vnm. i currently have 1250 shares at break-even, which is an avg cost higher than i'd like. would prefer it to be at $16 or under.
i've been raising cash lately as the markets appear overextended. that said, i've discovered that i'm pretty much of the herd mentality when it comes to buying/selling. upon reflecting, it's clear i would've been much better off following john bogle's advice to buy index funds and not look back!
jim chanos has for awhile been talking up the dangers represented by china's debt binge. while not necessarily calling for an implosion in the near-term, he sure makes a compelling case for it to happen in the next few years. and if it occurs while interest rates are rising (which c/d also be a catalyst) it could be a real mess. would gold be a good hedge? i want to put some more dd into optimal portfolio configurations in the event china goes into the crpper.
a.scal - the magnitude of biz offered by the dod for what apdn is doing would not attract large companies - it wouldn't be worth it for them to make a FEW million dollars while to having to endure the headaches that come along with conducting biz at the federal level.
for the govt, apdn is perfect as it supplies what they need, and as a small company it fits into fed's overall mission statement which includes supporting small biz.
dissector is laying out a realistic set of issues imo - and if you choose to ignore the evidence and rely simply on uninformed "faith" (like the anti-evolutionists in this forum) you could be in for more heart-ache.
pharma and food are a TOTALLY different ballgame than cotton, cash-in-transit and marking misc supplies for the dod....
The dissector wrote :"...would Pfizer, for example, choose APDN ,a struggling bio-tech,
that has never turned a profit or TIMO or DuPont or ?????....."Well dissector do not
forget that THE US GOVERNMENT CHOOSE apdn FOR SAVING LIVES OF PILOTS.....
the BRITISH and SWEDISH police are also in business with APDN..... that the PIMA
COTTON -,,,,,BRINKS and ...you go ahead . If the market offered better solutions than those offered by apdn do you think they 'd have hesitated ?Pharma companies-if
possible-are even more cautious than the entities that already selected apdn but it doesn't
take a ...binocular tp see the POSITIVE END OF THE TRIALS THAT WILL MAKE THE...CASH REGISTER OF APDN RING MADLY ! If you analyze what this smaller company
has been doing in just few years you have sufficent evidence that they deserve faith
and admiration !

Lights out? I try not to go there! Seems so final & unrecoverable. Just focusing on putting one foot in front of the other, trying to stay positive through it all. Hoping things perk up if the PPS increases & folks return from the beach, etc. :-) btw put other half back in VNM last week ...gl
The r/s was necessary to get listed on nasdaq and APDNs survival. At 1:60, using the current outstanding shares of 20M (for round numbers), that would equal to over 1,200,000,000 shares pre-split (yes, 1.2 Billion). A 0.10 move in the stock price would increase the market cap over $120M. Even a .01 move with no revs would be nuts. APDN would never be able to grow into those numbers, the stock prices would drift forever lower, esp. after each new round of dilution, until it was gone. (At $2.50/sh, equivalent pre-split is .just .04 - heading to ZERO) Reverse split are almost always an act of desperation.
Actually, just busting chops with the INCITE crack. I guess I was more offended than anyone on the electronic response to 424B3 filing. Looks like we need something. Today's volume is abysmal. You spurred me on Shanghai, and I've been looking at the compensation packages for Karol Gray and Beth Jantzen. They are lucrative don't know yet if they're excessive.
And, I was wrong on the Beneficial Ownership entries being indicative of the options being exercised.
Got to mull this over for a bit. Going to have some mulling time to do it too:).
Happy Memorial Day to You and Yours
And to all who got this far.
the pumpers "insight" is a function of the pps. the lower it goes, the less the "insight".
if it weren't for just a few stalwart posters on this board, yahoo would've turned out the lights on the forum months ago!
Great find, this free newsletter provides very helpful information for finding new stocks and starting your research on them to determine when and why shares are likely to breakout.
a.scal - two years ago you stated with confidence the pps would be $3.50 pre-r/s = $210 post r/s by year-end 2013. is your current prediction predicated on the same analysis as the previous one? thx!
Yes... IF and WHEN!!! That's the lingering dilemma with APDN.
Believing in an APDN solution for Pharma is fine. But you need to step back and do a reality check. Anti-counterfeit technology for pharmaceuticals is not new. They have summits for this stuff, sponsored and attended by large established companies (e.g., Thermo Scientific, Bristol-Myers Squibb, etc) For example, Thermo Scientific, a sponsor of one summit, has a portable spectrometer that can be used in the field to detect counterfeit pharmaceuticals - and you don't need to tag anything. Thermo Sci is part of Thermo Fisher Scientific (TMO) a $52B company. This is just one example regarding detection. There are solutions for labeling and supply chain as well. And if you didn't know this, perhaps you need to ask yourself if you did all your due diligence before jumping into APDN.
Besides the actual technical solutions/products, you should consider if APDN is a viable partner for a pharmaceutical company. Would Pfizer, for example, choose APDN, a struggling bio-tech, that hasn't never turned a profit or TMO or DuPont or ???
So, IF the trials ever end, WHEN will we see revenues?
THE PPS will not move gradually upward .When it wil move up it will be a sort of explosion as it happened
with Human Genome Sciences ( from 0,61 to $ 30....) What's loading the spring are several projects
involving giant international companies that did not enter in a business relation with APDN just for smaller
results.Such moves started just a few years ago and they are about to enter the final stage.
Such aspects of APDN activities should be carefully analyzed instead of considering only other aspects
of current events.

We we're screwed yesterday with the spike in shorts triggered by the report of BENEFICIAL OWNERSHIP.
Where do you stand? The BENEFICIAL OWNERS report places us right at the 21 Million shares. We just paid our employees. Stand up and say something.
Shang, she's an ex-senior adminsistrator from our underwriting entity. Tell me she isn't playing every string in the whole orchestra. And why would she move to our board without a promising future?
hey don - how'd that "rocketing price" action go? haha
the pps went from $11.40 at the time of your "increase our holdings before the price sky-rockets" to $2.49 today....oooops!
