ilmn is the world's leader in genomic diagnostics. Can the stock double from it's current price of around $170? Does anyone think a $340 to $400 price tag is possible within the next year or two? Will it ever double? And if so, how long will it take:?
Looking for an entry point as I missed the last pull back to$130. Not long ago and regret it. I need to pull the trigger but who knows if the market stays bearish I might get another shot at $130
imo, 158 won't happen without serious damage to the major indexes, and then, again imo, there would be much better buys than ILMN (ie, going from 158 back to 170 is less than 10%, but I think many stocks, beaten down that much, would bounce much more than 10%).
Still, I like biotechs, and had made a lot on ILMN on a long run, and have recently been buying every time it got at or under 165, and selling over 175.
So, I'm back in for a move to 175 or 180, and when (not if) it gets there, I'll decide to hold a little longer, or sell.
Ha, 2 things. One, this is not a correction, there won't be a correction.
And, ILMN is the most dominant player in a very rich business, more dominant that any other player in any other business.
Look at what they do, look at their product lines, look at their customers, look at their history.
Now, look at the #2 player. Oops, there isn't one! Well, if you count small players with 5-7% of their rev in very small niches.
Yes, hi PE, but no, not overvalued. What price do you pay for the priceless only game in town?
ps, shd ILMN drop any more, I'll just buy more, a recovery in their SP is a sure thing.
As I said in my previous post, this company has a lot going for it. my point is market usually correct in Sept and Oct time period and not the best time trading.
ILMN may be a great company with incredible growth. They will most likely beat earnings and guide up quarters after quarters. But the continuous insider selling needs to stop. How can one invest in a company / put new money to work when most insiders are cashing out?
I think we will see $130 or lower before a plus $300 hare price. There is too much insider selling. Maybe, the insiders know that Oxford Nanopore is going to be the true victor in the genomics revolution.
Great call, I said 158 would not happen without serious damage, and we got serious damage, and 158!!
The issue today is whether today's damage is the end of the damage. I think not, the damage is due to WW events, and those events are not played out. Maybe the mkt has priced in more trouble, but i don't think the trouble is done yet.
But, I hold my 165 shrs, and await the recovery...
Greg is just bitter. Oxford is just a neat toy. It only produces Megabases not the Gigabases needed for the majority of work done in the field. Additionally the error rates are huge and it's not clear yet if the error is random or systematic. If and when they can fix that as well as push the yield way way way up then those long reads will be useful. By then who knows what illumina will have. Oh, Oxford will also need to meet a price point (per base). There is still no competition for illumina on the horizon.
I said $158 was where it was going but I didn't pull the trigger yet. I have to do more DD on the insider sales
Well finally someone with a brain. ILMN is a GREAT stock. I have owned ILMN for a long time. It will go up and down in big spurts but that gives you a good opportunity to sell it when it gets high and buy it back when it goes down. Even if it goes down after you buy it just hold. This stock always comes back up.
Stong Buy for ILMN Good post xqxu_ca
Sentiment: Strong Buy
