Well, I visited my local Dave's and took advantage of the free meal. The fried chicken was really good.
1. Currently, they are only offering it on Sundays. Manager said that it takes 15 to 18 minutes to prepare and they are a little concerned that on other days people might not be patient enough to wait that long. He said that everyone really likes it and they are working on things to offer it more often.
2. Manager said the price of the meal with the chicken (I believe he said it was a 1/2 chicken) and sides was $10 or maybe $10.99 and he thought that was a good price point for what you get.
3. The biggest problem with my local Dave's (businesswise) is location. The restaurant is in a terrible location. It's right on a major highway which you would think is very good. However, the signage is poor, if you didn't know it was there you'd drive right by and never know. Right on a major highway, yet hidden from view. I think there is lots that could be done to clear all the brush and clean up the landscaping on the highway and much better lighting to make it very visible. Maybe even redo the parking lot and hill that it sits on so the building is more visible from the street level. In any case I know this location could do much better if it were simply more visible.
Seems like a no brainer, except in the Bible belt. Gives them high margin bar sales and spreads the fixed costs. Apps and cocktails/craft beers could be a big winner.
don't understand how price of stock went up when they are not in compliance with their bank loan.
DAVE has higher bank loan interest rates ahead plus a penalty-- and that is IF the bank doesn't balk and leave them high and dry
This makes a lot of sense to me. If they want to maximize use of the facility and the high margin bar revenues, this is the way to go.
Last time I was in Vegas at Cosmopolitan it was awesome, there were hot chicks everywhere and I had my way with several of them. We did have some BBQ infused sushi. I gave them the bone they wanted without going to DAVE.
