Effectively a dividend of $3.53/share. Nice. Would have preferred for them to distribute the entire realized gain (as I'm holding this in my Roth account) but I'm accepting of their plan.
Great news to see the sequential increase in value of Industrial Company. Looking forward to the IPO.
sales now finalized, looks like now we wait for announcement. very significant capital gain realized on those two sales based on reported cost basis.
Special div almost has to be announced by 1st week of December, right? And with it, disclosure of the "trigger event"? Otherwise, why sell ALG and WIRE at such low prices? Time must be of the essence...the sales must be for the greater good...
Can't add any more to my already-large position here...just thinking out loud...
Who's doing what now? Officers are content to collect their hefty paychecks and 1.5m in stock options a year, this pig has no future.
CSWC is not a pass through entity and does not distribute the majority of income to shareholders. The majority of assets held in CSWC's have cost basis that is near nothing so any disposition creates a huge tax bill. CSWC previously recorded the future tax burden as a balance sheet liability but no longer does so.
As an investor with positions in a number of Business Development Companies, I have just become aware of Capital Southwest Corp. The current share price ( $36.60) is well below the NAV of $51.17 ( as of 6/30/14 ), ; most BDCs trade within 5-10% above or below the NAV. Would appreciate someone familiar with CSWC offering an explanation for this discrepancy.
