That would explain why agents spending over 5k per month grew 48% y/y this last quarter ;)
Agents paid big money to be preferred agents. Most are diasapointed with thier ability to do anything with the "lead". It's really not a lead but an inquiry. Most will not renew their contract. Many markets are stabilizing and the relationship part of the business will improve and further pull agents away from the program.
At least this part of the income stream will continue to decline. IMHO.
It is becoming increasing clear that z bears are just gambling with OTM PUTs They don't do homework, they don't understand basic events, they don't hear key information from conference calls (if they even bother to listen along). The more they say, the more I understand that they truly are clueless when it comes to this stuff. Do you really want to follow a gambler's "investing strategy"? Can you afford to?
This is just short term confusion playing out. ZG is experiencing some short covering due to margin requirements and the control provisions. Z is flatlining in a way that makes me think it's being propped up by someone ... I expect Z will get hammered in the days to come once that support dries up and people figure the game out. ZG will reach equilibrium until it becomes clear that dilution is on the horizon that will impact all classes (likely at high premiums to valuation as this will be defensive M&A moves to stave off competition). just my $0.02, the markets make fools of us all.
The company also announced a dividend and the creation of nonvoting Class C stock this week. Class A and B shareholders will get two shares each of Class C stock for each Class A or B they own on Aug. 14. The company's class C stock will be traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker "Z" and Class A will be traded under the ticker "ZG."
Zillow said the Class C dividend will focus the company on growth "while maintaining the flexibility to issue additional stock for strategic business decisions." A press release called the moves a "massive opportunity" for the company.
ZG is the A shares. Z is the C shares. Doesn't make sense for Z to be above ZG. someone powered their big bad machine backwards!!!
This is clearly a teachable moment. Bear or bull, doesn't matter, just the infiormation you need:
To understand the split locate the 8-K SEC filing from July 20th it will have all the answers to your dividend / split questions.
I wouldn't want to be party to this nonsense either. More complexity for shareholders and less accountability for management is not a good recipe.. There be dragons here.
You're not long, not short, not informed... July 23 I posted the resulting audit trigger and naked shorts would have to fix their positions as a result, where were you then? If you don't get the easy stuff right, how can I trust you to get the harder analysis correct? What are you also missing when it comes to 72% mobile dominance, and 48% top teir agent growth?
