Did Frederic Salerno disclose privileged and confidential information to GAMCO after he stepped down from the NFG BOD ? I want this guy investigated.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
at the beginning of the heating season.
That's a 6 year low.
That's with all this Marcellus gas coming in.
Why would you sell now, when come November, nat gas supplies will again be under pressure.
Soon to be proposed export facilities along East Coast for shipments of LNG to Europe. The price of natural gas will rocket higher along with profits for companies in region with supplies and pipes. My bets are NFG, WMB and CBI are going to be winners. Russia is making sweet with China and Europe is scared to death, which means this could happen fast IMO. RR
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Get over Pickens. He has been harping on the same things for years. He has no credibility any longer at this point. He has been blowing smoke for way to long. No one listens to his #$%$, he should just pack his bag and enjoy his money.
Pickens: Pennsylvania natural gas production approaching that of Texas
by Sam Kusic - Staff Reporter - Pittsburgh Business Times
The oil and gas industry is the most dynamic industry in the U.S. and will remain so for a long time, according to T. Boone Pickens, chairman of BP Capital Management, who spoke Monday during Gov. Tom Corbett's Jobs 1st Summit in Pittsburgh.
"What an opportunity for our country with 30 of our states being producing states," he said.
A Dallas resident, Pickens said the country should take advantage of its energy resources and convert its fleet of commercial heavy-duty trucks over to natural gas. And it should form a strategic energy alliance with Canada and Mexico.
Those two things he said could end the country's dependence on OPEC oil, he said
Pickens also noted Pennsylvania's natural gas production is quickly approaching that of Texas. He said that is due in part to Corbett's leadership.
Gabelli needs to push harder for what is needed...the fat, happy utility guys who run this company are entrenched and it will take strong action to dislodge them and do what's right for shareholders.
With all the positives why would anyone sell. Just HOLD and by March you will have made a ton of money. Call me nuts if you like--- but--- I see well over $100 per share MLP or not. People--- once they embrace Nat. Gas over oil the sky is the limit. We are sitting on possible gains that will knock your socks off. The boys at NFG know what they are doing. They are smarter than Gabelli will ever be. He just wants instant gratification. Not looking down the road for bigger and better value.
Of course Mario, as a large shareholder, or at least, as a manager with large fund holdings of NFG, is biased in his view.
Was that 3.4 billion a net amount, or was it before subtracting drilling, exploration, transportation ?
Aren't Marcellus shale costs higher than most other sources ?
I know NFG is sliding now, but I think its being sold by myopic investors.
Yes, Nat Gas inventories are being rebuilt right now.
But, we are coming off record inventory depletions, due to a very cold winter.
Some people feel, that we won't reach high enough inventory levels when the heating season starts 3 to 4 months down the road.
Money invested now might be rewarded when its 5 degrees outside.
Gabelli Equity Income Fund: National Fuel Gas
National Fuel Gas Co. (NYSE:NFG) (0.8%) (NFG – $78.30 – NYSE) is a diversified natural gas company. NFG owns a regulated gas utility serving the region around Buffalo, New York, gas pipelines that move gas between the Midwest and Canada and from the Marcellus to the Northeast, and an oil and gas exploration and production business. NFG’s regulated utility and pipeline businesses, as well as its California oil production business, provide stable earnings and cash flows to support the dividend, while the natural gas production business offers significant upside potential. NFG’s ownership of 800,000 acres in the Marcellus shale, including 745,000 acres in the shale fairway of Pennsylvania, holds enormous natural gas reserve potential, and we believe the position could be worth $3.4 billion based on recent comparable transactions. We continue to expect above- average long term earnings and cash flow growth from rapidly growing gas production and expansion of the strategically located pipeline network. The company has increased its dividend for over forty consecutive years.
totally agree management needs to split company in two. Gabelli needs to become more aggressive in pushing them to get it done soon!
I'm doing pretty good with no dividend, not sure where you got in on this one. Anybody asking for Icahn needs to move on
It is still at 2% yield...these guys with a utility type mgt style are clueless...you want to give something back to the
share holders, increase the divy to $2.00 a share....idiots....I wish Ichan owned this gem....mgt would get fired, the utility would be spun off, Marcellus would be monitized and the price would go to $100. where it belongs.
Why isn't anyone else upset at the ultra conservative mgt here????
Mgt. is useless and too conservative....spin off the utility company, and concentrate on monitizing the monster asset that is the Marcellus Shale.....I am with Gabelli....they should have Ichan on their back...he is way more agressive than Gabelli.
