The above showed up on July 28 in the Financial Post, as noted by others. The article quotes Yee of RBC Capital Markets as thinking that, Biogen and Celegene, are more likely takeover targets than is AMGN. I have not found Yee's predictions to be particularly reliable, although I am bullish on all three, plus others, irrespective of potential takeovers. Thoughts anyone?
There is yet another rumor or talk of Amgen being the target of an M&A run or whatever vehicle. Think is a peppermint forest kind of chat; but, the environment seems open for anything with the tax and inversion rules remaining pretty much intact.
almost always when a stock goes up 9 points it gives some back as many take some profits happens all the time then we move higher relax shes fine long term buy and hold wins the race :)
Still green but has already shed half of it gains this morning. It feels like there is a lot of skeptics playing on this stock
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Reducing spending can increase profitability. This is a part of a company's value. It is not a hidden figure in any way. The numbers are all there for anyone to see. the bottom line is earnings have increased. Also gross revenue increased from last year. This is not from R&D. This is actual payments for their goods. You cannot add R&D to revenue.
Of course they did. They robbed the banks, shareholders, etc. Took their money and called it an increase in earnings. Oh, I forgot to say, they also sold the Brooklyn Bridge. Money seems to come easy for these guys.
By the way- where exactly did they get this money- all knowledgeable one?
and since no one wants or can make their bio-similars....these "generics" if you will, are coming back to Amgen at their Thousand Oaks facility. Huge earnings potential.
Are you kidding? Expensive? AMGN now trades for 18x 2015 earnings and 15x 2016 projected earnings with superior growth, $5bl buyback and rising dividend. This is expensive? Go buy FB, AMZN , TSLA if you want expensive. This is dirt cheap and AMGN has ALWAYS been a buy. Always hits all time highs. Great pipeline.
nice biotech sector rally today thanks to amgen = woo hoo
i dont own amgn but many other young biotech stars
