AMGN will split right after REGN splits. What does a split accomplish? Absolutely nothing! When was the last time BRK-A split? Has it hurt the stock price being over $220,000? Has BRK-A ever paid a dividend? Companies don't split their shares the way they once did. In fact, they consider it a badge of honor to have the share price in the triple digits or even in the quadruple digits. They don't want the nickle and dime retail investors who bounce in and out of the stock at the drop of a hat. They want the institutional investors who take a position and stick with it. Sorry, my friend, but you're living in the past. I got my splits in the 1980's and 90's. My original 200 shares are now 9600 shares. That's plenty for me. When they get up to quadruple digits, then they'll amount to something.
You had your chance at 150 last year and than again a few weeks ago. Sorry you missed it. Eventually going to 200+. Great company, nice dividend, strong growth.
IVOB started at .31 this week and worked its way to .59. The volume has grown exponentially on the shares of stock traded. If it continues to move the way its moving, do to a pending FDA announcement, IMHO we could see IVOB trading around 1.50 - 2.00 a share if not more by next week.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
You're off to a good start... presently $162. I've owned AMGN since 1987 and have no plans to sell. If you're looking for quick, small profits, you're on the wrong track. This is a buy-and-hold stock if ever there was one. Just add to it when it drops, and then hold on for the ride. It's impossible to know how high it might eventually go, but I'll bet you'll be kicking yourself if you get out at $170. The biggest mistakes I've made in 60+ years of investing have been selling good companies too soon and then watching them soar ever higher. Follow the old adage: "Ride your winners, and dump your losers." Most of all, BE PATIENT!
useless garbage spam site that has zero credibility and no value to any investor. thanks for sharing.
Can't afford to sell. My cost basis is somewhere around $1.95. I'm in 'till I die.
Good for you, been in amgn since mid 90'tis, and still believe in AMGN. Good company, good management, good restructuring, great pipeline. Everything is going great, and soon AMGN will hit 200.
T-Vec met its primary endpoint. It failed to meet the secondary endpoint of increasing overall survival but Fierce Biotech thinks it is unlikely that will keep the FDA commitee from recommending its approval on Wednesday: "That's sure to come up when the agency's Cellular, Tissue and Gene Therapies and the Oncologic Drugs advisory committees pore over T-Vec's data. And while the issue is unlikely to derail Amgen's ambitions--the FDA has a well-established penchant for approving cancer treatments with much less supporting data than T-Vec"
176 target. no guarantees in this world but I think I'll hang around for the biscuits and gravy
I agree that splits have no value at all. Small investors do not move stock prices. Yes it is a shame they cannot really participate in higher priced stocks but that is because they can't see the value in a 400 stock doubling with fewer shares. IN reality, % gain is the same no matter what the price so investors should have moved past the split nonsense years ago. Shows they never learn.
I hope amgn never splits again. Just keep paying the dividend
If you graph brk-a over the top of brk-b the movement of the two stocks are identical. They also trade at the exact same p/e multiple. Why do you say they are not similar?
AMGN needs to trade down to $150 range to get it's back to the normal range ...expect this to sell down to $150
Sentiment: Strong Sell
