keep trying to convince yourself. i'll stick to the facts. the fact is, no one knows for sure. except you and other blind pumpers like inothings. we may both lose money on this deal, but at least i took a calculated risk. seems like you based your decision on hope.
From what I hear, this new judge is the no nonsense type and I'm guessing she won't put up with Carlito's nonsense or bend over too eagerly, suspiciously I might add, like Lifland did.
It is very hard to see the positives with BLIAQ. U see, BLIAQ has no assets, operations, revenues, employees, trusts, and nols. They have told anyone who can read there will be no value and recovery for shareholders. In fact, they put it in writing to the SEC. The only peeps who were made whole were the unsecured bondholders. They got secret interest payments to be silent the paid in full. At least that is what one unsecured bondholders has said.
This is very confuthing. In a SEC filing the debtors say they sold the brand to Dish. The the APA says the same thing. It sounds like someone deductive reasoning is flawed.
I thought when the unsecured bonds were paid in full bondholders had to remit for redemption. Those unsecured bondholders are some very lucky peeps. They are the only ones who were kept whole. I wish shareholders were as lucky.
If Dish is retaining rights to the brand , library etc, who is the licensor/Grantor granting rights to them. Based on deductive reasoning, it is not Dish.
Of course there's been nothing but good news about BLIAQ on the board for years.
Be that as it may I predict a rapid uptick in BLIAQ shares at the opening bell Monday.
Tuesday at the latest. My target price for these solid gold shares is $72.50 by market close Friday.
Thnx again buffet for showing up to call longs dumb. What a shock! The best was when you talked up atending the creditors meeting for weeks because it was right near where you live and then "Im busy I cant go". Hmm I guess you still have your bonds then or are you just here to "teach"? We're dumb you're smart. Sure thing
You are full of it buffet - go take a hike. If Dish doesn't own the brand, who does? The trustee? Isn't it a logical conclusion that it is held in some trust or holding company where BB Inc has a stake. No one else bought anything from the 363 sale other than Dish and they don't own the brand!
Thank you Hotspot! That's all I asked for in discussing your post. I do know of it, but we disagree on that you can automatically assume that BB still owns the brand. I think its a long reach, especially when some blind pumpers here say its obvious. These pumpers (same people who attack me for asking a question) make themselves look dumb and they really have an agenda there pushing.
New release titles will all be strictly pay per view. The studios were even mullng having a 2 week "rental" wait after Blu Ray release. The huge thing that is missing on all the "new release" providers that I have noticed is, availability. Everyione seems to have a few titles available but not all. Having all new titles available from one content provider along with simple billing would mean having deals with all studios not just a couple. BB had relationships with all studios and if they still do they can be in a great position.
Yep - that's why I say that doesn't have anything to do with BB relaunch. Now, BB's studio relationship and Ergen & Icahn working together may help Ergen land those OTT pay TV deals relatively easily. But the streaming service for pay TV and movies would be separate ventures. Still think BB would be linked to redboxinstant service as content provider.
"I don't think this pay TV OTT business will have anything to do with Blockbuster"
Looks like what Dish is doing with this OTT is making the same types of content packages they offer on their Sat TV serice available over the internet and to do this they have to negotiate new " iternet specific contracts " with all the content providers because the ones they have now are for Sat delivery only. Thats all the Disney deal looks to be. Disney agreed to let them broadcast the same channels that are available on the Sat service over the internet.
I don't think this pay TV OTT business will have anything to do with Blockbuster. May be, Ergen combined both movie (old content for streaming) and this (TV content) into one service. But then that would take quite some time to build out as he would need similar deals with other studios - let's see how all this shakes out, too many balls in the air
In the famous words of ESPN's Lee Corso, "Not so fast, my friend." There's still a lot that needs to happen before Dish's plans for an Internet streaming network (also known as an "over-the-top" network) can become a reality. For starters, industry analysts think Dish and Disney's contractual agreement likely prevents Dish from launching a streaming network without content from other major players like NBCUniversal, Fox and CBS.
While the agreement does provide a blueprint for how Dish might structure similar deals with other content providers, it will also need to figure out how to get the content into its subscribers' homes at high speeds.
BINGO, now introducing the new and improved Blockbuster. We all welcome you back.
wont let me cut and paste the full article .. but if you go to Dish website and where they talk about 'Blockbuster's future' ... "DISH will retain licensing rights to the Blockbuster brand, and key assets, including the company’s significant video library" .. it's what they are saying!!
Amy Tenbrink has been appointed svp of business affairs for Univision. In her new post she will lead business affairs and negotiations for the content distribution and corporate business development teams. That entails distribution negotiations for the company’s linear nets, like Univision, UniMás, Galavisión, Univision Deportes and El Rey. Digital offerings, such as UVideos, will be included as well. Before joining Univision Tenbrink was director and senior corporate counsel for DISH Network. In that capacity, she was the lead content acquisition counsel for DISH and Blockbuster. Amy tells us she runs a non-profit organization that presents literature conferences and reads a whopping 150 books a year. When not reading, you might find her running marathons.
Can we please at least be civilized among the longs. We are all in the same boat. Either we rise or sink with the sharks. I just want this to be over with one way or the other.
