Sony, YouTube, Google Play, Xbox to stream The Interview. Why not Yahoo Screen or Apple's itunes? Mayer blew it.
Don't listen to this nitwit, he's the guy who, on Nov.5th said sell YHOO at $46.80. This is a person who does NOT have a clue.
"There's no hiding the facts. Yahoo is going to the $60s in January."
I have to agree with this. too many catalysts, and the core is going to see nice growth.
i agree with your thoughts about revaluations after a splitoff, although not necessarily with the figures you quote.
the core may be worth 5-6 bucks plus the cash.
however, how much of that cash will be left with the core and how much, if any, will need to go to the spunoff company.
but, the question for me is will the markets value the asian holdings for the spunoff company any differently than those assets are valued now? spinning the asian assets off relieves yhoo of the tax burden, but is it just being transferred to the spunoff company? i doubt it.
...down to $47. I suppose it _could_ get there if we have a correction in January. Market could do what it's been do'n and rally until March before rolling over. My problem with selling, here, is that I think we see a catalyst in January - - some direction as to YHOO's plan going forward.
Then You Must Be a Crying Clown instead of one that smiles on Good Fortune....and a clown with little sense of decent behavior in open forms
I'm impressed. Coldone has been dead on with his predictions all year. That dude is making some serious green.
Starboard will get their way or Mayer will have more trouble than she can handle.
Why do you think AOL will not bid for or try to merge with Yahoo after it spins off its Asian assets?
You forgot the main growth catalysts. Once they announce tax avoidance plan, the company will be in play for takeout.
They will spin off around 50B in stock into a tax exempt entity. That's $5 bucks a share in value.
This will leave 10B in cash and 20B in value for the core assets.
I expect the core with cash to sell for $30B, or around 35 bucks a share.
Total maximized value could be almost $90 share. That's way north of the $51 we are enjoying today.
