Bea - I did see. While that may appear to be disappointing, it is really just moving money from one pocket to another. Let's just hope Legg Mason does well with the NAV growth, and then that will take care of itself.
Without auto insurance do you realize if you have an "at fault" serious accident can be sued and lose everything you have? I dropped my homeowner's insurance and bank the cost of it every year to self-insure. It means I have to hire only people who can provide me a Certificate of Insurance with a current date. I can't have just anyone do odd jobs because if they got hurt, they could sue me.
Costco and Sam's club have auto insurance. Both could not beat my 15 year discount with all state. Even if they could, would it be worth it to jeopardize my 15 year discount?
sorry to post on this board, AGroupie - did you see BWG cut dist again! no buybacks etc. Bea
Thank the greedy sue happy people for that. My auto insurance is very reasonable. I have 2 vehicles on my policy. Both vehicles are older and not worth me getting full coverage so I'm paying for liability only. Nothing wrong with ditching your auto insurance and peddling a bike. It might make you healthier. I didn't have a car until I was 22. Road my bike to and from work for 4 years. Saved me enough to put 25% down on my house when I was 25 years old. Paid it off in 3 1/2 years. Shortly after that, I ditched my home owners insurance. So there are ways of getting around it.
Sure there is inflation. But this increase is ridiculous. 40%? Give me break. And that too with no accidents. No water damage.
I'm not an investor yet. I do ,however, have auto insurance with allstate for about 15 years now. I've watched my insurance go up little by little. Nothing stays the same. If you don't want your insurance to go up, ride a bike. If you don't want your home owners insurance to go up, pay off your house or become homeless. Everyone's got a choice. There will always be inflation
I could not find a better price than Allstate for my auto insurance here in FL. Can you tell me what company was better for you please?
When Tom Wilson starts rearranging the deck chairs, it probably means things are not going well. I'm a seller right now.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
My auto insurance with Allstate went up about 35%. Been with them for 5 years. The agent sent out an email earlier asking me to look for a "small increase" in my policy. I didn't even see the notification when I said I will be shopping around for insurance. Her boss send a letter to all his clientale that the whole industry is in a mess and that State farm and Geico increased it last year and Allstate is was late in doing this. I promptly switched insurance for both Auto and Home. I wonder how many cancelled the policy. Next earnings will be interesting to watch. If I am stock holder I will be selling my position.
