Laura all this talk about management is not lame, but real concerns most of us here have. There is probably one other individual here that is more vested in Medl than I. Almost two years in and this stock has just been tanking week after week. What would you attribute that to? When America struggles as a nation, where does the buck stop? Why would that be any different for a CEO? Sure, after your visit to Medl HQ, you probably left with a warm and fuzzy felling? They told you what you wanted to hear like my email replies from Andrew. I am grateful he addressed my concerns or at least tried to promptly, but sometimes medl comes across vague and misleading and in some cases just not truthful. If you spent a good amount of time here, like a few of us have, you would know exactly what I'm taking about. With that being said, stay informed and engaged. Some of us have insight into medl, while others just rant incoherently (Above). If this Katy Perry thing turns out to be true, it would revigor a lot of lost sentiment overnight and if not .... well just another misleading statement and further shareholder pain.
John: I support your efforts. All this talk about management is getting lame. I appreciate the efforts of the good people over at MEDL. The company has certainly come a long way from that retched seekingalpha article (which I thought was inappropriate). Maltin and his staff are working really hard to get out in front, and with a quality product.
You are one of the few people I enjoy reading comments from on this board. It has always been clear from my vantage point that you believe in the Hang w/ app, and that it's possibilities are boundless. If you turn to "greener" pastures after all you have been around for, I wish you the best, but I think you will have made a huge mistake (and I will miss your insight). How many once in a lifetime opportunities do you have these days? Before you turn to greener pastures, I implore you to buy a plane ticket to Fountain Valley, visit MEDL headquarters and see the great people they have working there. Then tell the message board if your investment spirit is not renewed.
No fooling around when I say that I heard a broadcast a few minutes ago of Andrew Maltin saying, "Katy Perry's gone, she's coming by to see us in 20 minutes, we figured we grab some food then we're gonna hang out with Katy and get her on Hang w/ for all you Katy Perry fans". Listen for yourself in Andrew's archive #jammy pants # jonorlando. Mentioned at 03:45 in video. We'll have to wait and see how true it really is.
hate to break it to you, but I don't expect much after Android update looking at the last PR's and releases. Unless the CEO sends out another "fluff" letter or releases download numbers that impress we are dead in the water.
I worked for Andrew Maltin, before starting my own app development company TrooMobile and although I don't care for him personally, I do think he's a capable CEO. I'm curious as to who you think can lead the company to increase downloads.
Hang w/ Twitter followers finally broke past 5000 over the weekend. That's approx 500 new followers since May when I bought in and started tracking. Roughly 200 of those in the past month or so though. Looking at it from the perspective of hovering around a 3% loss on my investment for a little over 4 months. I'll probably give them 2 weeks after the Android update to show results. After that it's likely off to greener pastures for me.
To do list for mgmt for Hang venture
1 - raise $10 to $20 mln for hang if possible
2 - hire professional CEO, CMO, COO & CFO + more staff
3 - partnering with big cos
4 - create content channels to broadcast
5 - give Twitter a 25% equity stake for bringing all its users to hang
6- start pay for view for po-rn
7 - target to reach 25 mln downloads in 2015
8 - heavily advertise to promote Hang
9 - start revenue generation to show Hang can make big bucks
10-goal to make Hang as popularly known like Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, Instagram, Google
I wonder if Medl has turned off all marketing for Hang w/ until android 3.0 is released. I'm also not sure what they have agreed to with this PR firm. I do know in an email I received from Medl is that they turn on and scale back marketing during new and soon to be released updates. I doesn't appear that this PR firm is aggressively marketing Hang w/ on a continuous basis based on download rankings, but instead strategically releases news upon the request of Medl on when that should happen. I would think that Medl can save money this way. Not sure if it's the correct route, because I don't see how organic growth can occur either without a big celebrity/celebrities/investor joining the app.
I guess that is what u get with limited funds to advertise product. First weekend of new release and not even an uptick in downloads on app Annie. I am just not sure how organic growth will occur. Perhaps one web is outta beta but who knows anymore.
I mentioned that to maltin in the past. I am not sure why they can't get more retailers on hang w to sell.
I think they plan on implementing premium content channels in the future.... right? They're probably a year or two away from that considering the amount of users/downloads. Off topic a bit, 50 cent had an ad running after his broadcast of his home in the discover section. 12,000+ views. The post roll ad showed the new line of his Star Wars head phones that then linked you to a page where you could purchase a pair. I'm not saying that many or any were purchased, but it's definitely a start to something bigger and a revenue generator. We just need bigger and better celebs. 50 cent is washed up and old!
Would be nice if HangW could attract enough premium content to have an a la carte menu of channels users could purchase.
Hang w/ has a post roll ad where it asks you to write a review for the app after a broadcast. I suspect that's why.
I noticed close to 50 reviews already for app. This doesn't seem like much until you look back at previous versions that only had 25 or so after several months in store. Just a little something I noticed is all.
