that is not ling to happen. We have been there. The world is not created for just one big brother. Nobody likes to be spoon-fed by just one big brother. That is called communism.
If you look closely, it's a rug. Too perfect. He didn't wear it at Sybase if I recall. He is pretty handsome either way.
Couldn't agree more..... Actually, I don't see a rally at all per say. This is a long term stock to INVEST in. A true Buffet type play for the long run.
Dude...company almost went BK last year in Nov and now everyone is talking about turnaround. Nobody expects this stock to remain stagnant over the last year.
You make a good point in your reference that BBRY is a good trading stock and will continue to be a good trading stock until either 1) Chen and Co are able to turn company around or 2) They are unable to and the company actually does go BK.
At this point, nobody knows, especially you, as to whether the company will survive and prosper or go the way of Palm. So keep calling it a fake rally if you choose, but in the meantime, the jury is still out as to future turnaround, although I'm thinking the market is probably leaning that it can be turned around, especially when you look at the last 6 months of activity (Samsung partnerships, Obama endorsement, etc.)
Companies with full-time IT staff have more options. They just made a cost-benefit analysis and decided that securing their systems costs more than it's worth. Because there are plenty of solutions! So many solutions - an entire industry of solutions. Good. MobileIron. Soti. Samsung Knox. And BlackBerry, so much BlackBerry, always BlackBerry. - You could not ask for better publicity than this event!
good. Based on yur normalposts I didnt think you would make a post in that manner. good luck with your trades
You know this is from the movie "A Few Good Men" right?
This was the speech that Jack Nicholson gave when comforted by Tom Cruise in the court room.
Here is the original script:
Col. Jessep: You want answers?
Kaffee: I think I'm entitled to.
Col. Jessep: *You want answers?*
Kaffee: *I want the truth!*
Col. Jessep: *You can't handle the truth!*
Col. Jessep: Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.
I see your point of view and am sure a lot of people agree with you. I think a lot of people get burned by this pump and dump because they interperet things the way they want to see them. I tend to look more at what chen doesnt say then what he says. like the passport last q for example. the passport pumping stopped almost immediatly. You see what happened. Bbry same price as when I started trading it over2years ago
Yes this was a joke/parody but look to the reality, the BB is the device most use by government agencies so it is the keeper of the "fire" wall.
Ivan,I dont know what your job in military is and am not asking and do not want you to answer on a mainly anti-american messagge board. There are a lot of people who have done multiple combat tours who choose Iphone as their personal phone. I hope this post is a joke and you are not siding with a bunch of foreign a hose who cheer on bad things happening to USA from the safety of their computer screens. Normally I like your intelligent posts advocating for long side whether I agree with them or not, you are one of the few long bbry seeking alpha writers I even bother to read. I would expect a tasteless post like this from someone like the midgett/nerbice/liarspoker troll but not you.
*"The gibberish on the earnings call doesn't tell you if anything is actually being monetized yet."
-- True but this should give an idea:
"EZ Pass now has over 4,900 total customer registrations, which is about 1,300 more than last quarter when we reported. As of today we have 6.8 million licenses turned in, 100% growth over last quarter. So very, very well received. Of these licenses about one-third were traded in from competitors. With this uptake exceeding our goal, obviously somewhat way exceeded my goal, our attention is now turning to monetizing it for FY’16."
--- Conclusion: BES is ready to monetize bad
*"The vague smokescreen numbers don't tell you how the hardware is selling."
-- I was able to read through the smoke screen:
"We recognized revenue related to approximately 2 million devices in the third quarter consistent with the previous quarter."
"ASP in the quarter was roughly $180"
"We're able to fulfill about 200,000 Passport orders... we were only able to fulfill order backlog of Q3 by December 12... already into Q4.... our revenue of these devices are all recognized on a sell-through basis. So not every one of those units, in fact most of those units revenue are not recognized in Q3."
--- Analysis: They produced less than 200k Passport units in the 3rd Q and most units didn't sell-through. This leads me to believe that actual Passport units sell-through was less than 100k. So the Passport didn't affect the numbers much as the ASP was only $180. I believe that the 2 million devices sold were Z3s and units from the old inventory that were sold under deep discounts. This explains the low ASP.
Ok, the Passport was not the hit that many believed but the Passport was an awkward device. It is the Classic that BB users really want and are exited about. The main point here is that many carriers including AT&T are going to start stocking the Classic is their stores. I expect the Classic to sell into the millions; I don't know if 10M as required by Chen.
my reference is toward the cycles bbry has moved in the last couple years. bbry moves up on mainly bullshjt rumors or hype(sometimes real news) thens sells off. It's a pump and dump that traders and shorts make huge profits from. In my opinion it will remain that way until it produces a product people will actually buy. They have about a year to do this or its lights out. The market will decide the outcome of this.
I'm going to lean more towards your #1. However, you refer to a fake rally before a selloff- yesterday there was no rally, it opened at the low and moved up all day with 50 million shares traded. Interestingly it didn't ever go green. Huge engulfing candle.
I think Chen is slowly turning the BBRY ship around and investors are having a tough time with slow progress.
My guess next week is that we get over the 50 DMA and test resistance in the 11.10 area.
