You'll worry when officers are selling? You mean like the $834,560 direct sale at $52.16 by VP of Men's Merchandising Robert Carlberg on November 25th?
Here's another way to look at it. Year: total Dividends 2009: 2.60, 2010:3.30, 2011: 3.05. 2012: 5.30 subtract 1.9 stolen from 2013 =$3.40 2013 2.00+ 1.80= 3.60. 3.60 on a $50 stock 7.2% yield. Tell me another stock with growth and that type of yield and such a long history of conservative growth and zero leverage so I can buy it. I'll worry when the CEO starts selling instead of collecting his dividend
Even Motley Fool on September 29th had an article by Michael Hooper estimating this year's Buckle special dividend to come in at $3.25. Instead, they've now announced an amount barely topping one third of that, barely more than one quarter of 2012 or one half of 2010 and 2011. The low for the past five years was $1.80 in 2009, and it's not even 2/3 of that (which was in the depths of the financial crisis). Bad omens all around.
The CEO owns a lot of stock and he will pay himself next year for tax reasons.
7:03 am Buckle announces a $1.20/share special cash dividend and a 10% increase in regular quarterly dividend to $0.22/share (BKE) : Co announced that at its quarterly meeting of the Board of Directors, held on December 9, 2013, the Board authorized a $1.20 per share special cash dividend to be paid to shareholders of record at the close of business on January 15, 2014.
The Board also authorized a $0.22 per share quarterly dividend to be paid to shareholders of record at the close of business on January 15, 2014. This represents an increase of $0.02 per share, or 10%, in the Co's regular quarterly dividend rate.
Both the $1.20 per share special cash dividend and the $0.22 per share regular quarterly dividend are payable on January 27, 2014 and will be paid together.
I thought it was today. Maybe yesterday since they announced the dividend today. I little less than I hoped but the increase in the regular dividend is a nice surprise.
Not going to happen this year, business has been rough or haven't you been following? If there is a small special div it will be paid early next year, not this year.

I'd say we are good for at least 1.50 - 2.00
Agreed, but keep you eye on the ball, because believe a chance to save another ten percent may still present itself. Then a nice ground rule double could be possible over time. Very good company to buy and hold, best in class.
barjonicat..haha funny yes I certainly missed that extra "T"....I think this is a fat enough pitch to take a nice big swing at.
By the way, it's spelled "Buffett," unless you're taking investing advice from the the lunch line at the Bellagio.
