Well, I'll believe it when I see it. Most if not all firms worth picking up would have to pass the national security test. The Chicoms already steal most of it anyway, but that's beside the point. And anyone can say something is a potential goal. Lots of space between potential and actual.
I'm hanging around till the earnings release in a couples of weeks. If that doesn't generate some upside on the price, I'm outta here. This POS is getting me down.
Gonna try asking some questions after the next earnings report in two weeks. Probably isn't much point in trying to get a company's IR to talk two weeks before earnings report while they are in the middle quiet time, especially this company who hasn't been particularly responsive to small, individual investors to begin with.
Still holding common shares.

"Establishing world-class IDMs is one of China's potential policy goals under the 13th Five-Year Plan. To accomplish this, a mature IC industry supply chain will be required. Making acquisitions of foreign companies to complement the existing IC industry supply chain is one of the best ways. Acquiring foreign companies that have technological competitiveness would allow China's IC industry to improve its technology capability. Moreover, the establishment of a CNY120 billion national investment fund will assist China's local IC firms to make acquisitions overseas. Digitimes Research believes that China-based IC design houses would complete more mergers and acquisitions overseas during the 13th Five-Year Plan period."

Nobody has answered my email sent to invest at ovt. I then called the main Omnivision number at 408-567-3000 this morning and asked for IR. The (front desk I presume) immediately connected me to a voice mail for "Tina" if I heard correctly. I didn't leave a voice mail. I will probably call back with some specific questions to see what happens, after I refresh my knowledge on OVTI.
Yes, I think OVTI still supplies Motorola.
I am still in OVTI, but with light position now. They will probably finally get bought out now just to screw with me. Might buy some calls though. I just sent an email to invest at ovt, the email at the bottom of the investors page, just to see if anyone answers or they give me an investors relation name. Will post back if anyone answers.
I just checked LinkedIn - - he has gone to NVIDIA in San Francisco - - as Senior Director of Investor Relations.
Is this the reason for the current price rise, I believe they use ovti

He sold 69159 shares at $27.14 for a total of $1876975.26.
He now has an additional 42888 shares with out of pocket cost of $216761.93.
The options had to exercised because they would expire within the next 6 weeks. Some sooner.
To me, this is a positive move He had to sell the shares to acquire cash to pay for the shares he acquired from options which were about to expire. He actually had to buy 42388 shares for $216761.93 or $5.11 per share. If he were to sell these shares in the next few days I would think this would be a negative and the buyout was no longer being considered.
