Walls of Worry:
Another Tomahawk chip set (enhanced version) is causing delays (2 qtrs) for new 100G switches and servers.
Slowing US economy expected to force the web 2.0 hyperscalers into
capex push backs.
Aggressive pricing strategies by new chinese entrants at the OFC are causing pricing in 100G to fall even faster than expected. Although they can offer price but not volume delivery, many feel its only a question of when and the hyperscalers may simply wait for the $3 per gig price target (or lower).
The vast number of 100G module types and customization requests have convinced many industry followers that it will be impossible for component makers to have any chance of recapturing their ROI for most 100G modules.
This is hedge fund manipulation in its most blatant expression. They shorted it on the way down and now are scooping it up for the next leg up. Business is booming - everybody knows it. They want to steal your shares. That's how WS works.

High of 5.69 and a low of 4.42.
It is obvious something is happening that is not good. Company specific? Dont think so.
Where will the good news for the sector come from?
I hope that Oclaro is sold for $6+ per share within a year. In the case of a takeover, the convertible notes holders are entitled to convert their notes to shares at $1.95 and receive actual selling price for each share they own. Upon conversion, they will be owning about 1/4 of the diluted shares. This will be to their benefit to press for the acquisiton of Oclaro at a price well above their conversion price well before the cycle is over and OCLR is back below $3.
