Appears that Jim Chanos follows your posts EBE - he was rather outspoken today regarding alibaba - something about "Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves" being an applicable analysis of chinese stocks? Thought of you when I saw that.
But since you are still investigating fraud, after trading around $1.80 all day, can you tell me how an 11K share trade at (last of the day) can sink the price from $1.80 to $1.70? Can't miss that one on the chart - what a ruse to show a 7% decline on the print!
oh ok thks for the info. I am holding since one year so probably not eligible for it.
hey Illogic don quiote
Hows that system working? you must really be loaded up by now since your the cheif gurboid here
I received mine, the question is anyone reinvesting in GURE stock, my answer is not! However just curious as to how many of you are investing in Alibaba? My dealings with various Chinese micro-caps has been a disaster however given the hype and size of Alibaba this may be a different animal.
This is the settlement of a lawsuit that goes back several years and the check are sent to shareholders who owned shares at that time.
Which settlement check? Am i missing something? I am holding shares of gure and have not received anything. I am holding at $3.1. Please let me know if i need to do anything to receive the cash .
Thanks in advance.
oh #$%$ ...just check out GURE... this is ripe for a buyout...or 80s style raider's takeover...book value is 300m and trading at 70 mkt cap...oh #$%$ 23% of the book value...wow...is this real in China? they got $150m in cash...? really? going to be another 80s re-enactment of corporate takeovers? Gulf Resources, Inc. (GURE)?
Yeah you got cash? you got $50,000 cash for attorney fees at the minimum? Retainer for the law firm starts at $5,000 and billed at $575 per hour. can't do over-leveraged deals that could breach the "fraudulent conveyance" clause. you must put-up at least 20% cash from sponsor (otherwise forget it) or PE and 80% of the purchase price can be financed with bond, bank loan, mezzanine or hedge funds. attorney fees usually it almost 2%-3% of the transaction cost or more... actually, as long as you got cash and good plan for cutting fat and re-engineer the company...you might have a shot at it...
I am relatively certain (about 95% certainty) that I can easily sell the shares I bought yesterday at over $2.00, but I will depends on the circumstances and trading behavior. I may keep them and sell them over $2.50.
That pattern is repeated over and over again, a decline over time on low volume and a spike up. This is a thin market, and a volatile market. I have triggers to accumulate more, as the fundamentals haven't changed.
The company seems to care nothing about the stock price, only the long term performance so this is a long term performance play for me. I see the pros for this still outweighing the cons, but I'm not satisfied with the management for their stealthy behavior.
Yes, this slide looks familiar. Only question is whether it will stop in the $1.70's or continue to the $1.50's
Yes - it is painful to watch the price decline below $2.00 - but the decline is on low volume, with what appears to be HFT/algorithms testing the lower boundries with many 100 share lots. The past few times this happened, we had a subsequent heavy volume day bringing the price back up over $2 (not sure who or why - perhaps a scalp trade promoted by stocktwits) - but maybe we are setting up for another one....
Beyond that, we wait for a catalyst again.
At least the shorts can make money until management "decides" to increase share holder value. Mr. Liu is "waiting for the right time", no doubt, to deploy the cash. I'm pretty sure he will act to protect the value at the $1 pps mark. Apparently then the buyback becomes attractive to him. Oh, and to prevent delisting from the prestigious U.S. stock exchange (save face). Enjoy the ride down shorts. You've earned your money in the Liu casino.
I have 6,500 and possibly looking to buy more if it gets down to 1.75. I am now in at an average of 2. It wasn't too long ago that this jumped t the upper two;s. I already profited about $20k on past transactions. So, regardless of anything unusual, I still have high expectations (maybe I should say hopes) for GURE.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
