You're quoting an article that's a year and a half old, that doesn't take into account ANYTHING that has happened since then. See, I Googled it.

    maybe this will interest you...
A purchase of Clearwire, in turn, would give the number three carrier Sprint about the same amount of combined spectrum of the nations top two carriers, AT&T and Verizon Wireless, said analyst Roger Entner of Recon Analytics.

"Sprint would have a boatload of spectrum with Clearwire, and Softbank knew this all along," Entner said. "Sprint can turn into a spectrum powerhouse and can easily provide unlimited data to customers for a really long time without going back to any auctions."

DT isn't even entertaining the thought of accepting Illiad's bid. That's not happening, so don't bother waiting. Oh, and here's a tip, when you make a claim in a conversation, YOU have to back it up. Go do the research yourself and prove that it's true. Otherwise I'm going to assume it isn't, because it sounds absurd.

So lets Look at Dish here is a company with a lot of Spectrum and maybe worth a bundle but it is in the closet and there is the problem he faces with the FCC Use it or Lose it and they made that very clear to him .So what is it worth ? well depends what the buyer wants to pay or they'll get it thru another Auction . Get the Drift.
So Sons plans may be use what we have Today as Fast and best as you can and if need more we can buy it later.

Last public Press statement I heard was Sprints Spectrum was more then both Verizon & AT&T put together I want to say twice as much but I am not spending the time to research it you do that then get back with me.

Is there such a thing as having to much Spectrum ? maybe not but seems Son think it is at the present time or with his money he would be in the Auction but he did say he would Pass this one up and enter the one in 2015 I think was the Date so between now and then it seems he is more interested in spending the cash now on what he feels is more important and what that may be only Son knows and everyone else is Guess Work. Son owned like 35% of Alibaba and what he made today shows he is not a Stupid person. He has one of the Largest fastest Wireless Network in different parts of the Globe .

So Just Sit Back and let the driven to Son. By the way I read your $33 dollar Bidder gave a Oct. deadline but has not got the money to enter the so called " Data Room " and thats like buying a use car without driving it ..

I don't understand why Son would pass up the opportunity to acquire more spectrum. It doesn't make sense. Even if he doesn't NEED it right this second, there's a limited amount of it and there are very few opportunities to get it. If he's going to have spare cash on hand, he could buy spectrum just to spite TMUS so they can't get it to use to expand their network. Or, he could buy it, wait for it to appreciate in value, and then sell it off later (when there's even less available) for a healthy profit. Or he could use it to expand Sprint's network; even with the small carrier partners, there must be places where Sprint would benefit from more coverage, or situations where the company would be better off directly owning the spectrum. Heck, they could even use the spectrum for a reverse partnership- let some of the partner carriers use it and charge THEM for it.

There are very, very few "sure thing" investments, and spectrum is one of them. Instead, he's giving every other carrier the chance to get more of it and increase their coverage, which reduces any network-based competitive advantage he thinks he has. It's a giant missed opportunity, and unless he has something wicked up his sleeve, it's a poor business decision.

That is very understanding even for me but my point was why would sprint wish to bid in the Auction if it can cover the same areas with agreements and partnerships with smaller carriers and I might add at a much cheaper price ?. or dose it make sense to you to spend at a Auction for overlaying coverage.

I am sure Son is much more aware of what is going on then the both of us and knows what he is doing by Not Bidding only at the Auction or even for TMUS and had TMUS looked better then Sprint I am sure he would have bought it intead but seems Sprint fits his plans much better.

So my friend what part of this do you Not Understand?

Serious question: is English your first language? I know you have a hard time comprehending, but I don't want to make fun of you if you actually don't understand what's being said. That wouldn't be very nice.

Let me put it very simply for you.

You cannot make money without customers.
    Sprint is losing customers.
    Therefore, Sprint is losing money.

Profits are defined as earning more than you spend.
Sprint is spending money and not earning.
Therefore, Sprint is not making a profit.

Spectrum is required to expand a wireless network.
Sprint is choosing to let every other carrier buy the limited amount of spectrum.
Therefore, every other carrier will be expanding their network.

Now do you understand? This isn't complicated stuff.

What in the world are your talking about ?. the need for Faster Networks Better Data Plans and lower cost connections will be the Demand for years to come and thats Public Fact. so what Rock have you been under ?. Also it is a fact that Sprint has more Spectrum at present then some put together and seems Son wants it used not sitting in the closet and that may be the very reason Sprint will pass on the Auction but on the other hand TMUS dose not have this option and therefore the word is Suitors is not making a move until after the Auction and that tells me that if TMUS does not get what they NEED no suitor may step up to that table Sprint walked away from no matter what you claim the reason was for. ( FCC or Gov )
Another Point I look at is the class action lawsuit the so called PCS customers have filed against
TMUS ( Public Release ) and should Sprint enter any of them areas they could give them customers another choice for a carrier they may not have couldn't they.

I hope you understand that in many parts of the U.S. many areas still do not have other carriers to chose from Wireless or Cable and thats another proven fact.

So sling all the B.S. you wish

  • I have to believe this is the same Vision he has for Sprint as his merger tactics are much the Same.
Shame TMUS is not on board for the Ride into the Future.

Someone needs to revisit business school: supply and demand. If there's no demand for your product, increasing supply will lose you money (Sprint's network). If there's high demand for a limited resource and you voluntarily choose not to pursue it, you can't keep up with supply (spectrum). No part of Sprint's plan will lead to profits.

That is because you are a mid $20 stock at Best. Merger chat got you here at $30 but then again bidders are dropping like Flies. My opinion grab that $33 offer while you have a Sucker on Line

  • or take the $33.00 while they have a Sucker on the Line

  • Another bidder may be heading towards the door cause of lack of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

So do we hear $33.01 ? ....LOL looks like DT may just have to stick around a while and Pump more cash into TMUS for the Nov. Auction major problem with that is they will be bidding against the Top Two carriers as the #3 carrier made a Public Statement they was not interested this time around but maybe next year at present their are looking more to complete their build out and improve Sparky in High Density Areas giving them and much larger Foot Print and a much lower cost to consumers.

  • should not be sidetracked by cat & mouse expectation.

Softbank (perhaps in 2016 or after election), Dish or Iliad just need to pay more to get a piece of TMUS.

    Cheers!

There probably won't be much activity until the next earnings report, unless there's news in November.

  • Everyday over last few weeks we have seen very low volume on this stock giving us no chance of going up. Just going to trade in the 30-31 range until any news on a potential buyout. Snoozefest

    Wifi calling

    by easymoney216 Sep 12, 2014 12:20 PM

I'm not sure what you're talking about, and I don't think you are either. High-quality wifi routers resolve the problem of low-quality wifi routers. Obviously that won't be the case everywhere you go, but it can be the case with near-100% certainty at home, with the TMUS provided router.
