I just about pegged it on my estimate.
Just got my KMI shares for my KMP in my Fidelity account.
I got 2.2262 shares of KMI and and $9.54 for each share of KMP plus $6.07 for a fractional share.
I had estimated 2.23 and $9.52 based on the election results you gave here.
I do not and do not believe in selling short or options. I hope people understand the warnings or same sirens the President is hearing can't forever result in shell games of moving tarsands out of Canada. The real costs of destroyed lives and environment are just to high and depend on government corruption that has to end not like tobaco but a divorce. Considering most American's are forced to take a long positon in tarsands related companies like KMP/KMI through their 401k's and even the paying of the real costs from destroyed health and enviornment and then global warming it just all becomes to intolerable.
Like Enron and Madoff and selling America short 30 or 40 to one by the banks once people understand their forced positions they will not think highly of the short positions key insiders are likely taking here while pumping the stock. I would hope any honest investor would research the events in Burnabay and growing efforts to keep tarsands in the ground to make all of us longs suffer less when the balloons start popping. If not then at least you will know you are selling our chilldren's future out.
"It would appear the best deal was to hold and take the 10.77 and 2.193 KMIAccording to the close of 102.03 for KMP and 42.32 for KMI"
That's what I did
i look for him once merger is closed to set his sights on another pipeline company or venture into and buy a propane company to be well diversified to assure he has cornered the oil market gonna load up on kmi
Pain like we've never felt before. Figuring out how to actually report all the carryover losses, etc., and then writing the big check to pay the tax. Oh, I can envision two or three red thumbs down already. No, its a holiday, so it will take a while, if ever.
The GOOD news: No, KMI is a C corp so they can be put in a tax deferred account.
The BAD news: You can't transfer individfual stock into a tax deferred account from a taxable account. You can only contribute money into a tax deferred account. So you would have to sell the KMI you got for the KMP shares & contribute that money to the to the tax deferred account however many years that may take. Then you can buy the KMI in the tax deferred account.
I held shares of KMP which were not suitable for a tax deferred account. Now that the shares are converted to a corporation, is there any reason it does not make sense to hold them is a tax deferred account going forward?
Please listen to billwilson and divest on the open on Friday! You can clear your conscience and I can add more to my retirement account. A win-win!. LOL
Agree Mr. Phil. Rich Kinder has delivered every step of the way. Bought my first shares at $28.00 and continued buying and reinvesting distributions. Now my largest holding. Sticking with Mr. Kinder in the new venture too.
Sure glad there are no BIG MONEY bundlers and donors to Liberal / Democrats....unlike those "evil" conservatives...I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.
