I agree with your comments about the Nov options maturity. I'm showing 3490 of the Nov 6's open interest. It looks like it will be difficult for the shorts to drive the price down to 6 although I have seen this done before. I was going to "sell the news" today, but my biggest fear is missing the gap up when a new partner comes on board. Technically, we have a huge gap to fill when this happens.
Fair post. I am not so sure why you feel a partner is needed for 145 when they don't seem concerned with partnering right now. I don't think at this point is justified because why would a company want to partner for 145 until complete OS data for target is known and given my theory that Merck left because it knew 1456 would be more potent and they wanted to avoid milestone payments; any future partners are also going to want the stronger drug with the better linking system targeting the same folate receptors as 145. Hypothetically, if 145 is advanced in the future I think any partner would also want to bundle 1456 in that same deal. Nobody will want 145 on its own at this time without more mature data. Now if a partner did a bundle for both 145 and 1456 I could see an effort to continue advancing 145 to market as quickly as possible until 1456 makes its way through the channels to market. Why not provide some clinical improvement and make money if 1456 will be a bit further down the line. I don't know if that makes fiscal sense but it is plausible until someone shows me otherwise. Car manufacturers produce and selling new cars every year even though they are working on models years down the road. Long with you, guess we will enjoy the ride together for a few years.
I agree about the call. There is a plan in place, they have options, and they know what data they need to see to make a decision on those options. Very confident about the future, but then again I always have been. Watch for PPS to return to higher levels sooner than later because nothing with this companies prior successes have gone away, they have just disposed of one drug / indication combination with PROC. That sell off was a huge over reaction given the estimated revenue PROC was expected to generate. Like many things in life; people will overreact on uncertainty. PROC caused a period of uncertainty but as direction and successful news keeps getting released, that uncertainty will again disappear and we will see a return to increased buying. PROC was ECYT"s brief period of corporate EBOLA. They have a treatment plan in place and everything is going to turn out just fine. I am also interested to see how the Nov. maturity date affects PPS. They were successful in October to drive it down the week of so I assume the same will be attempted for November. :)
Sentiment: Strong Buy
but I'm a little concerned with the light volume. Going to call it how I see it. Need a partner for 145. Need 1456 to make it to cohort 5 then on to phase 2 with good results. If either of those things happen then we'll go to the teens. In the mean time, the shorts are going to keep jerking this around. I'm long but this is how I see it unless the Bio Bull comes back around.
I was able to listen to the presentation at the Health Care Conference and was very impressed. They reiterated the good news from the conference call. My takeaway is that these guys are executing their plan. Now we wait for the proverbial "upgrade". I wonder how the traders are doing that shorted this to 5.45 before the cc are doing? Shouldn't they be getting their margin calls in the next few days?
Jbaaaaa is right. This is a healthcare conference seeking more investors. The material being presented should be the same as the conference call. Now bringing awareness to the recent developments should start to spark buyer interest again, which should over the course of time gradually increase PPS as they start buying in at these low prices. There won't be anything groundbreaking, however, if that is what you are thinking. Like seeing your positive attitude, however. :)
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Yes this dog looks worse off than any that I've seen on the ASPCA commercial. But....I'm still sticking with 6.90 - 7.00 before the week is up. As long as the Markets are green, this will go up with it.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I upgraded ECYT to strong buy with 6 month price target of $12. That explain's the pop I think.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Did you just suggest that I give an explanation of why this stock can't hold a high price without blaming shorts or price manipulation? Do you follow the stock market because both happen every day. The timing, news releases, and activity make this one very easy to see. Short % increases leading up to ESMO. Those shorts financially gain should the ESMO news turn out bad. News was good, "oh no" say the shorts, "we called this one wrong and are going to lose our rears". Monday pre markets have real investors surging stock 13%+ on heavy volume. Markets open and short volume goes sky high. Now every time the stock starts to break out from $6, there is more shorting, especially noticeable the days leading up to the Oct 18th options maturity date. Now that's an odd time don't you think? I wonder how it will look the week leading up to Nov. maturity date. Now we have last week where again good positive direction from the CC sent the stock surging 18% on very heavy volume. I don't blame all of the losses from this past Friday on shorts. I think a good amount of sell off came from those who purchased a few weeks ago in the $5.40's, when you were shouting "don't buy", that decided to walked away with a VERY quick and nice profit. If you don't want to hear that shorts and manipulators are mostly to blame I am not sure what reality you want me to talk about because there is nothing but positive news and direction coming out of this company right now. As I have said before, it is only a matter of time before the buyers return and that is simply a case of marketing. EC1456 is getting ready to provide a great deal of positive marketing for investors. Shorts / Manipulation will keep going until the tipping point. I guess you consider yourself lucky for selling your position so you don't have to worry about this stocks performance anymore? Again, this entire post is my opinion, neither right or wrong, but supported and plausible.
Who gave upgrade? I'm not seeing it on my screen, but I am seeing a nice pop on volume.
Why not, the manipulators and shorts have a large stake in the downside and they keep trying to hold it back on the hope the company will report bad news. But the good news is coming in and the stock is going to recover, IMO.
