Yes, how about LBJ and Kennedy in the Vietnam debacle and their SOD that ended up with a great new job at the World Bank after he led Johnson down the road to ruin. How about FDR managing around the back of everyone to get us involved in WWII, which by the way is what brought this country out of the depression, not his public works or New Deal efforts. Until we entered the war and started making war machines, the economy was still in the doldrums with millions still out of work. Kind of like today...there are more people out of work today than at anytime in our history. There are more people on public assistance of one sort or another than any time in our history. And while all this is going on, Lord Barr wants to screw up health care for millions for the sake of a small percentage of the country.
And you forgot about Carter who screwed the economy up so bad it took decades to recover and the shame of having American held hostage for years under his watch. The left has done such a wonderful job, oh and lets not forget the worthless UN that was championed by Mr. Wilson, the then resident Socialist President.
Maybe the Democratic Party will give him a job in the upcoming mid-terms. They need someone not running to bad mouth all those on the right that are. Obama won't do it, he might get blamed for yet another stupid public utterance. The Teflon President cannot take the blame for anything.
U.S. Grant was not a great President and he knew it. He even apologized to Congress for mistakes he said he made while President. Obama won't and doesn't have enough time left in his term to make that many apologies.
The right probably has a list just as long. The problem in this area isn't Party affiliation, it is the attitude of these clowns in that they think we don't notice and we don't care and will send them back into office anyway; and you know what, they are correct and we do.
There is no accountability in Washington D.C. and the voters are the people that should be holding them accountable and we fail time after time. We, collectively as a voting public, should be ashamed of ourselves.
Oh, and you forgot Mr. Jefferson. The LA politician that had the National Guard escort him back to his home in NO so he could get his bribe money from his freezer! That one took a real set!
Sequestration didn't cut any budgets, all it did was reduce the GROWTH of upcoming budgets. I don't know how anyone in government can claim that it cut their budgets when we haven't had a budget for four years. There is no budget, it is simply spending until someone tells you to stop or they notice that you haven't spend all your allotment and they need to transfer to another project they couldn't otherwise get funded.
Since your speaking of racial violence I should tell you what I witnessed two days ago. While sitting at a red light I suddenly heard yelling and noticed groups of 'youths'(youths is news speak for young Blacks), I would guess at least 20-25 of them, running back and forth screaming. It was like a swarm, first they ran forward and then they backed up, back and forth. I was in traffic and could not see what they were running to and from. However, suddenly I saw about ten of them surrounding someone and all of them were viciously hitting the person. Traffic was bumper to bumper rush hour traffic. I laid on my horn for awhile and some of them scattered, and then I saw police lights on the way.
Out of curiosity I drove by that same bus stop 10-15 minutes later. Nothing. No police, no 'youths'. Were the sweet little things told to quit playing and that was the end of it, I really wonder. I`ve heard that police around here are really really afraid of non Whites, especially 'youths'. Lawsuits, ACLU etc losing their jobs, smeared on the news, you know. Maybe the rumor is true.
I`ve read and seen videos on the internet about this type of 'youth' behavior, I never thought I would witness it first hand though. Geez, what type of region did I move to? How much of this type of thing happens around here that no one ever hears about? Maybe surprisingly, Florida was a safer place than this? I`m beginning to miss Florida.
Nothing from the news liars regarding these WHITE South Africans:
A section of the white population in South Africa is preparing for the worst scenario in case aging former South African President Nelson Mandela passes away. The national evacuation plan over possible genocide was drafted almost a decade ago.
They say they have thousands of groups meeting on a regular basis to support members “spiritually, emotionally and with practical assistance in preparing for times of emergency.”
“We have been planning for eight years,” head of emergency planning Coenie Maree told RT. “It started simple, the idea was to give people an option. We’ve divided the country into 27 provinces and divided those further into groups. Each group has its own plan.” There are around three million Afrikaners across South Africa who are descendants of primarily northern Europeans who arrived in the country three to four centuries ago.
Genocide Watch, an organization that analyzes conditions around the world that could result in mass murder, puts Afrikaners’ risk of slaughter at level six or “preparation” stages, one level away from killings.
Gustav Muller and his team preparing for the worst are afraid level seven could start any moment. A former intelligence officer in the South African army, he says it was simple to read the warning signs.
Muller, a leader of the Suidlanders movement, has helped establish a countrywide operation with more than a hundred safe areas.
When the alert is given, people across the country will be notified by SMS, and they will go to a pre-arranged meeting point from where they will travel by convoy to the safe areas.
“The death of Nelson Mandela is a risk scenario,” Muller said. “He is a political icon and his passing could see violence flaring up again.”
Some 800,000 white, mostly Afrikaans- speaking South Africans are supporting the pre-planning. Many are collecting goods and emergency provisions for the day they get the word
The man is full of hate and it finally made him pay.
He will land somewhere, as did Olbermann. Hey, here's a thought. Perhaps Olbermann will make him his sidekick on ESPN.
I agree, I put this among one of the few stocks I like. Personally, I think the valuation is attractive even though I think the pension assumptions are still quite inadequate. Because of this, I wouldn't mind a smaller dividend increase in favor of repurchases.
Take a look at the Balance Sheet. http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bs?s=T+Balance+Sheet&annual
Notice how the cash has increase from 1 billion to over 4 billion in the last two years while T has repurchased 12 billion in stock and only borrowed 8 billion. What we have here is a cash cow and 3 billion is hardly worth mentioning. Still paying off 3 billion does attract some attention.
Heck, we don't even know why we had a facility in Benghazi in the first place. It is rumoured that it was to support the Syrian rebels but why don't we know for sure. Isn't this the most transparent administration ever???
