$40 for a meal out is pretty standard these days. Red Robin has diversified its menu successfully. They pay attention to their demographics, and successfully make their presence felt in communities that will dine at their establishments. They will keep carrying on, maybe not a lot of growth in the near future, they will gain slowly and steadily.
My lady friend and I ate at RRGB a couple weeks back. After dining on fish, fries, (nothing special about either) and a drink, and leaving a decent tip, I walked out $40 broker. I'll not do that again.
Fast food will only have trouble in the future from labor costs and people understanding the bad effects of regular consumption of fast food.
