    Beware the recent run

    by assumption88888 Jul 11, 2014 6:53 PM

Sometimes I do a little trading around my primary position. I was lucky and picked up some extra shares at $1.90 a few weeks ago and sold them for almost a dollar profit this week. But, I still have a very large (for me anyhow) position. Let's see what news we get this week on Thursday. Still think it will be another Q or 2 before the revenues really start to increase. Just hoping for very positive comments this time. This Q could be just break even I think.

When I went to the NASDAQ site and reviewed the trades, the largest was about 3000 shares and there were only a couple over 1000. Most were for 100 shares. They need to announce a sizable order

And this is what makes markets. I completely understand your feeling when it comes to that size, one hates to sell when the stock is strong (because it will go higher, right?) I liked the volume in the afternoon today but like you say, not many trades of any size. Always interesting to watch the offer size during the day. I 'guaranty' that if the offer gets to 2.95 early next week, 5,000 will be shown there. Now....if someone takes it out it could get quite exciting. I know you may be right if you sell, but I suspect I will hold on hoping for more. Still not ahead on yesterday's purchase....but wait till tomorrow so to say.

  • Personally I may sell 4000 shares on Monday and Tuesday with the hope to buy back after earnings in the next few weeks 50 cents cheaper. I will still own a boatload anyway but it makes it easier to wait for the big move when I can put $2000 in my pocket. I am still a strong buy though just skeptical of the recent move given similar moves prior to the last several earnings reports. Volume just isn't good enough to convince me that big money is moving in. There were no decent size trades all day.

I may be a buyer again at 3, depending on how it trades at that price. I won't chase it but I may sit on the bid there. I remember last Q how it could never quite get through there.

Volume was disappointing yesterday, would certainly like to see it better today. I was the high trade yesterday....and not on the sell side.

I just think the volume really sucks and wouldn't be surprised if this is just pump and dump and we drop back after earnings unless they have something great to say. I'd probably wait to buy now until earnings come out - you might get it lower

I have enjoyed the exchange of messages here so don't get me wrong. Volume was 4X three month average and almost 2.5X ten day volume, not sure why that is disappointing. Now, count me in if you say price action was disappointing. OTOH, I tried to check the last trade but could not, but I suspect it was very small and a sell on the bid, which does not mean much.
But if you want disappointment, try this. When price was about 2.46-2.65 yesterday, around 3:30 EST, I bid 2.55 and was immediately filled. Then another buyer comes in and pays 2.65 and then it closes weaker. Today it opens solid based on yesterday’s close and shoots up like we want to, only to level off. THAT is disappointment. I will take another 50,000 share day tomorrow.

yes Steve. The volume kind of sucked though for such a move up by 2.90. Lots of size came in at 3 on the offer. I am worried about a pump and dump like usual just before earnings. With all the chip companies having such good news they have to have good news next week. The question is what is the news worth

I would imagine they would be cautious about giving too much info that wasn't included in the presentation. Hoping for more details next week in the earnings report and CC.

Thank you. I particularly liked this statement: "New emerging IC test markets have no incumbent test providers." To add to what Steve said, when there is no incumbent a company should be able to penetrate a market better than it does with incumbents. Now....if they can just show a lot of excitement and energy while giving this presentation....there is a chance. Will be interesting to see if anyone does some buying now or if they wait until the conference call next week to see what the near term (2015) outlook is. IF they say something like a 25% increase in sales, and a much better than that earnings forecast, is basically in the bag for 2015 and they would not be shocked by an even better performance after that, the stock should fly and I won't have to worry about that $5 level I talked about earlier as it will go right through that. Here’s hoping for another 30,000 share day.

Thanks. It's also available on the SEC website as part of an 8K filed today. Nicely done presentation. Reading between the lines, it seems like AEHR is now getting about 20% of the current TAM of $100M. If they can also get 20% of the expanded market of $4-500M, that would get revenues up close to $100M annually.

  • Its posted on the company's website now under the investment relations category.

Thanks. I thought we were going to breakout to the upside today, but it lost a little momentum at the end. Still, market was very weak. Gayn has a presentation tomorrow that will also be available at the AEHR website.

Nice discussion. If I had to hang my hat on one thing it would be the one part per million comment. I think the reason for the 'disconnect' is that we really don't know IF there will be much growth reported and if there is, how long can it last? One $5 million order should do wonders for the price, and $5 is easily within reach. On the other hand, the stock is so illiquid and the company so small, that if they see 4-5 year growth, $5 will still turn out to be a good entry point. But like you said, it always seems 'wait till next quarter.' I will have a hard time holding past $5 but will have to see how it gets through there....if it does.

Sounds good. There just seems to be a disconnect lately with the businesses growth and our stock price. I figured we be higher by now but they have increased shares outstanding which doesn't help. I always say wait til next quarter, wait til next quarter but I think now AEHR is at that point. They better have some good things to say next week because everyone else is saying good things.
