great gift for us....this stuff works
The margin will be revised for the same gains or losses someone has acquired applied to a new number of shares.
Once the class C shares are issued, I am concerned whether it would appreciate like Class A shares. Since Class C shares are non voting shares, who would want to own them vs. Class A? If the value of class A shares are cut to 1/3 of the original price, and the price per share is the same as class C shares at the time of issuance, I am thinking about selling all class c shares and buy all class A shares( like even swap or thereof). Also, if you had used the margin, how would it affect the margin balance?
guess they got their heads buried in the sand...... no idea what the future will look like....too busy looking at charts
Hi guys. Thanks for the replies to my inquiries re FB's Class C shares. Since we are taught to be appreciative of any gifts or privileges we receive I plan to hold my shares through the real growth period of FB which is ahead of us...(all things considered). Now I am not saying Mark opened his piggybank and shook out gold dust for us without our input, no we invested and he is basically saying thanks for choosing FB. In one of my early replies I responded to an irate person literally cursing Mark, his race and whom ever he was beating up. I suggested if the had the betting mentality he should try ICPT .. buy the CALLS.....hope he did. It was then at $138. Now use some of that gain and buy FB for looooog term
I really do not understand the statement you are trying to make. My reply just is saying a split and dividend are close to the same.
There will actually be an additional 5.7 billion shares and if you add that to 2.85 billion outstanding then that is 8.55 billion shares between both classes of stock. Good bad or otherwise..........................it is what it is.
It is a stock dividend. Most stock dividends are a small fractional share so this is different. In many ways this is very similar to a split. The exception in this case is that a new class of shares are being created. Option treatment is different.
...............but for the most part this is similar to a split. The shares will triple like a stock split, the share price will be 1/3 the pre-split, and like GOOG/GOOGL news will call it a split.
unless you are doing something like immediately selling your class C shares or buying options prior to the split, you wont be able to tell the difference between the split and a stock dividend.
It does not matter............ CEO has majority voting right already so there is no change in the value of your vote. Our votes are meaningless when 1 person controls the company.
