Ignore is probably a good nickname for IGN. ;-)
Well, there is no way a new RDR ships this year if they are hiring people. Still hoping for the remaster.
GTA 5 was announced for PS4 and XBOX One last year at E3. The announcement happened at the sony press conference. I wouldn't be surprised if GTA 5 DLC is announced at this year's Sony conference.
Ignore has an article up suggesting that r* San Diego is hiring for and working on something like red dead online.
Yeah, if the line they are pushing is "You just have to trust us.", that is a bitter pill to swallow and I don't think the street will like it. They've sort of put up with it for a while but TTWO needs to provide some more clarity. Perhaps they can do a middle ground and provide guidance of the number of SKUs but without naming the specific titles? But at least E3 isn't far away so we should have a better understanding of things within a month or 2.
Especially hard to know because we don't know what this AAA title from 2K is.
Lainie is NOT CFO material...she is in way over her head at this juncture and TTWO would be well served by moving her down to a staff role and replacing her with a more seasoned and senior executive. Her thoughts come across as muddled and she sounds inarticulate and rough around the edges on earnings calls. She also sounds like a 2-pack-a-day smoker. Does anyone know what she actually looks like?
Spec, now my question is...does current year guidance contain the RDR remaster, or would that be surprise upside to what he just presented? Hard to know since he doesn't detail what makes up that guidance and much as I want to agree, it ain't gonna trade on par with the others until TTWO gives more clarity IMO.
Ah thanks for mentioning it. Not sure how I missed it. I am always surprised he makes a big deal to mention MLB 2K. I was probably focusing on that haha.
I think he wanted to though investors a bone after what was said about no dlc single player for gta v n the conference call the day before. Last year gta v remaster was announced in early september for a mid november launch im thinking same for read dead which meaning big earnings beats in the 3rd and forth quaters of this year just like last year. They set the bar way low with there guidence for fy16 just like they did for fy15
OK, I forced myself to watch that Cramer piece (it is on youtube). And yeah, Strauss' mention of Red Read dead seemed quite revealing (it is near the end of the video). He said "What I watch someone else play Red Dead, I feel like I'm in the middle of a Western [movie]. You hear the crickets chirping. You feel the sand. You think you are right there. Watching the tumbleweed while people interact."
This is a game that came out more than 5 years ago. Why would he be watching someone play Read Dead?!? Clearly he saw a demo of RDR remastered or an Alpha of a RDR sequel/prequel. I hope the former and that it will be released this fall.
atcoyou, Cramer did mention 'Red Dead' at the beginning of the piece.
There had BETTER be a RDR remaster on the way. If not, they are just leaving easy money on the table. There is definitely a demand for it. It certainly won't be a GTA V but it will be very profitable to put out an upgraded Xbone & PS4 version (and eventually a PC version too).
"Jim Cramer on Take-Two Interactive (TTWO): Should Trade on Par With EA, Activision Blizzard"
I hate to agree with Cramer but TTWO does deserve more respect.
