Ice machine production is being moved to Mexico and possibly China. The company is saying the statistic of up the 40% of production may come from outside the US gives the hint more job cuts are in the works. All together now, "Scott Walker, where are the 250,000 jobs you promised?"
10 employees at the WPS Pulliam electrical plant will be jobless with the closing of two boilers. The lost electrical generation will be replaced by Manitoba Hydro under contracts going out to 2027. Let's take a moment and applaud the late Ronald Reagan for ending federal renewable energy research when he was president. If it wasn't for him we wouldn't be sending our dollars to Canada for power. Let's give Ron's want-to-be, Scott Walker a shout out. All together now, "Scott Walker, where are the 250,000 jobs you promised?"
WPS is shutting down two coal fired boilers at its Pulliam plant in Green Bay. 10 employees will be given the heave ho. To replace the lost electrical generation WPS has signed two contracts for hydro power from Manitoba Hydro going out to 2027. Oh, that's green power. So let's take a moment and applaud the late Ronald Reagan for ending federal funding of renewable energy research when he was president. The fate of workers at two boilers in Weston will be decided later this year. Okay, all together now, "Scott Walker, where are the 250,000 jobs you promised?"
By the way - where are the 5,000,000 "GREEN JOBS" Obama promised during the 2008 campaign? Don't remember that promise? I do - I saw the commercials at least 250 times during that summer every night. Where are those jobs, huh? Only "GREEN JOBS" I remotely heard of were from a 2 week training program / lib political photo op that taught about 20 guys how to blow insulation into attics locally. Where are the 5,000,000 GREEN JOBS?
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Can always rely on you libs only telling half the story. Hutchinson is a company in deep trouble and just happens to have a plant in Wisconsin. Let's look at the rest of the story below:
The cuts announced this week will leave about 600 Hutchinson jobs in Eau Claire, said Mike Schatz, the city's economic development administrator. He said it's been known for some time that Hutchinson would move assembly work from Eau Claire to Thailand, and that the jobs in the city lasted longer than expected.
Eau Claire expects to regain about 100 manufacturing jobs, meanwhile, when Riverside Machine & Engineering completes a planned purchase of part of the Hutchinson complex and locates operations there, Schatz said.
Hutchinson has lost tens of millions of dollars annually for six years running. The losses range from $35 million last year to $168 million in 2009
How about the 100 new manufacturing jobs.
Hutchinson Tech is moving hard drive production to Thailand. No idea when the 480 remaining Hutchinson employees in Eau Claire will be given the pink slips. Gee, aren't these high tech jobs and tech is the future? All together now, "Scott Walker where are the 250,000 jobs you promised?"
You libs love to run your mouths. If you are at least get the story straight. The cuts are coming form the federal government controlled by liberal Dem's and the town that would be affected by a cut in shi building has only 11,000 residents in total. furthermore this is only a proposal and may never come to pass. If you are going to post at least tell the truth. Why not discuss something positive about WEC because there is a lot of good stuff going on.
Starting in January the pink slips maybe flying at Oshkosh Truck, Manitowoc Ship, etc, etc, etc.. Article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel today. Everybody all together, "Scott Walker where are the 250,000 jobs you promised?"
Yes governor Walkers give backs to large corporations certainly helps investors OUTSIDE of Wisconsin but at what cost. Yes Walker delivered hundreds of millions of dollars in give back to business by cutting money to schools and counties and cities but where do you think those schools ,cities ect. come back to looking for the money that was cut? To ME the taxpayer. Owning 5 properties in Wisconsin and seeing my property taxes rise 4-5% every year since he became governor. The increase in the value of my shares in WEC stock including any increase in dividends comes no where near what the increase to my property taxes. So while you continue to walk the Santa Fe trail I pick up the REAL TAB THE GOVERNOR HAS LEFT BEHIND. And just so you know the governor BORROWED 2 billion dollars to fix his budget spent 1.1 billion and the so called surplus is what was left over from his borrowing. As the GOP proclaim------- what about our children!!!!
Wisconsin: The Land of Promise Seems like the policies of Gov. Walker are doing what they were promised to do. Nearly a billion dollar surplus, job growth, and ability to cut taxes. If you compare that with the President's former state of Illinois, Democrat controlled, Wisconsin is on the right path and Illinois is getting closer to be flushed down the drain. So Wisconsin will lose 400 jobs. That happens all over for various reasons. What I do not like about this post it is a number in a vacuum, When you look at December 2013, the most resent month available, we find that the unemployment rate in WI went down from 6-3 to 6.2 percent and is way under the national average. This happening not because the participation rate is falling also but because of near 4000 additional jobs added in December. It also looks like they added about 45,000 jobs for the whole year.
Guess Walker has done a pretty good job and WEC has also put up pretty good numbers. Why do you Libs constantly run your mouths with misleading info.
Racine is WE Energy territory so its losing customers. S C Johnson is now claiming letting lose 300 employees and maybe up to 400. WHERE THE JOBS YOU PROMISED, WALKER?
Unitil of NH is another small utility benefiting from the brutal weather...........UTL has been increasing their number of natural gas customers and the increased gas sales go directly to the bottom line. Both the fourth and first quarter should have record numbers for UTL.
In stead of looking at an isolated incident, you should be looking at the US Govt. employment data for Wisconsin. Libs usually like to take data and present it as you have in a vacuum.
Wisconsin NFP was up 1.5% in the last 12 months. The good jobs were even better. Mining & Logging +3.7%, Construction +4.3%, Manufacturing +2.5%, Information Svsc. +3.3% and Professional & Business Svcs. + 4.1%. The bloated Government sector at -0.8% and Education and Health at +0.2% are the reasons why overall is only +1.5%. Finally the overall unemployment rate id=s down to 6.3%. In light of the facts, the governor has actually done quite a good job.
