Big Lebowski subject line illustrates how the Fed's indecisiveness impacts the markets. Weak jobs report fuels sentiment that Fed may not raise interest rates in 2015, after all, which weakens the Dollar. Weakened dollar is good for commodities, which is good for gold miners. If I were a Fed insider, I'd make a killing in the markets. But alas, I'm not and subject to the Fed indecisiveness. My investment strategy now is swing trading and spread option trading (e.g., bear put spreads). With VIX above 20 and Fed indecisiveness, markets are nervous. Lotta ups, lotta downs, lotta what-have-you's. Perfect environment for swing trading.
yes, it is private. jwtechy is exactly correct. 4 families own it. it was created to prevent crisis, but actually the owners master crisis to enrich themselves.
My use of "private" is an ownership statement. Like as in not public. But "private" companies benefit their owners and not the government. All the so called legislated oversight, does not make it a government entity. The FED is a for profit entity for its owners. Rothschild's, et al. You could argue that its true structure is a conflict of interest with its mission.
And what is with our inability to audit its books? Any actual oversight powers were legislated away pragmatically in the last crisis. imho
.p.s. you ever catch Woodrow Wilson's remorse speech over his role in creating this monster? Or Kennedy's speech on secret societies? Lots of interconnected dots.
And who crafted that piece of legislation signed by the poor Woodrow? ;-)
the fed is a private bank? What??? 12 governors appointed by the President- a Federal Reserve Act signed by fascist Woodrow Wilson - ability to print US currency -overseen by Congress C'mon already - maybe falsely appraised as an autonomous entity, but wrongly so, as your point of big bank brotherhood is true
Sentiment: Strong Buy
the fed is not a gov entity. They are a private bank, that had a law enacted making them the sole supplier of this governments money supply. Each dollar issued being a loan that obligates "interest" payments by the American people. Congress, which was the only constitutionally authorized entity to make money, has given up its power to this private corporation whose shares are tightly held by a hand full of very powerful families and a sprinkle of big banks. The very banks that it legally regulates.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
