At this point, iPad sales are pure momentum - based on the brand nameds (Apple, iPad) and very effective continued advertising. The value - the functionality to price ratio - is ridiculous - why anyone buys it except out of ignorance (plenty of those consumers out there) orfor some kind of brand name prestige, I don't understand.
Apple would be foolish to not "upgrade" (add size, speed, whatever - to almost Mac-like capabilities) the iPad and continue that momentum, and continue to build the brand.
Look at the timing - waldblow is one of Fleckenstein's greatest fans.
Fleck hates semis in particular equipment stocks and probably lost a ton of money....

The real question is whose buying or covering? When a stock acts like INTC has for the past 2 weeks with low volume and a big bashing lastly, someone wants more without driving up the price. Could be INTC buyback, but the bashing today rules that out and most likely one of their clients is behind it. JMO.
tiernan is "brain dead" - he publishes whatever he's told.
remember Sawitz (?) - he was even worse but he's gone.
why suddenly ML and SA suddenly gone - for years ML was drumming the PC is dead - now things look different and they are gone -
and A.E. gone from one day to the next
the markets are only going to dip for one short day?
you better hope so
Intel haters are hardcore and will go down screaming. Likely we never will get anything close to a reversal from them but simple new price targets as they call for sell.
It hits 40 this year and they say something like this after.
Intel faces roadblocks in both tables and phones. It will see a steady eating away of its ASPs by people choosing cheap tablets over more expensive notebooks.
Never will they mention their previous price targets. James had a 16.
people who rely upon these wall street clowns get scccrewed.
If James knew what was going to happen, he could simple go short huge and become a billionaire on that short play. But of course he knows jack nothing.
Intel announces another beat on net profit and revenue soon and this stock goes to 40.
James wacccks offf and ups his price target to whatever while keeping a sell on Intel. Seriously, if that cksssucker ever said strong buy, I would be worried about Intel.
Very good post, with this one device only the imagination is the limit, exciting times to be sure.
Couple questions ...... if someone might know the answer.
"10 times more than CPUs needed in units."
What does a 3G modem connect to the 3G network if it is NOT connecting a "CPU" ??
How does this compare to the previous smallest modem?
What I really like is that INTC will be behind the next big thing which means INTC could be in the same position that AAPL was just before the ipod/ipad really took off.
There is a new category of wearable devices using 3G GSM to be compatible with most of the world's 3G networks. Believe Samsung's new smartwatch is GSM-based. Intel's tiny new modem serves a rapidly growing market. These devices should be able to be used on AT&T and T-Mobile in the States.
For any business to track and locate in real time. It's application is enormous. Just think about the huge benefits the laser barcode scanner has brought to us.
You will need to put this into the search engine
Apple tablets losing ground in education; Jumbo iPad planned
Interesting article about how the iPad has fallen out of favor in the classroom in favor of laptops and Chromebooks. Oh ARM fans, Where's your Messiah now?
You have nothing better to do than dredge up someones old posts for your own agenda ? ,get a life freak show.
Just the right size to hold Intel's new 3G modem.
If the old rumors of "Apple and Intel working on a watch" is true and Intel provides a 3G modem to Apple,
Verizon ending CDMA requirements for their network in a few week will open up the USA to Intel,
Intel could introduce a processor for the wearable market that competes with Arm's M4,
Intel to $50.
