Really? now that is a bit shocking. I am expecting short level to go down. Clearly there has been covering maintaing the price level.
Typically at this stage any short in know what they are doing and have access to good clues.
if indeed at $8.50 short level is rising, this does not look good at all. Pros wont short a company for something like $2 when it would apear to be a high risk bet.
May be there is something else unfolding. the 3 D printing bad market cannot explain that kind of shorting left in it.
They are pretty useless. One blogger says 3D is going to el zilcho and the same day another says its a great buy for a double over the next year. They haven't got a clue, just like most people here or on Wall Street for that matter. I once talked with a Wall Street trader, he said its a rigged game and the average investor really doesn't have a chance, the insider information that flies around between the players is incredible and the SEC is clueless. Best just to invest with a pro and spread your money around a bit, which is what I do with my serious dough.
Draper sat looking at the old man in front of him. "Sir, money doesn't buy happiness. I'm already healthy enough financially to live a comfortable life style. But, I am curious as to why you think I'm the man up to this task you put before me. As you say, we are alike in some respects, but you've far exceeded me in most areas I'd wager. I'm just a guy who likes to smoke, and used to drink too much. What do I have, or what did I ever do to deserve your attention sir?" The old man looked at Draper, and he paused, took a deep breath, and said, "Mr. Draper, your mother was present when my mother died, and held her hand when she did. Although I was just a little boy when she left this world, I've always loved her, and I want to make it up to her, and your mother in some small way." Draper admired his host, and said, "Sir, you have a deal!"
The old man pushed a button, and into the room entered a tall man wearing white gloves. "Mr. Draper, I haven't drank in a number of years, and I know you don't drink anymore either. But, this news calls for a celebration, and I wonder if you would care to join me for a drink?" Draper looked at the old man, and thought for a moment. "Sir, I will join you for a toast if you like." "Bring us a case of that 21 Dom Perignon, and a box of those Cuban cigars." The tall, white-gloved man did as he was commanded.
The two men sat in the room visiting for hours, drinking, and smoking, and drinking, and smoking some more. Both of the men felt somehow together, and connected. For both of them, they would only drink one more time in their entire lives. Food was served. And, celebration complete, Draper retired to his room where a completely nude brunette lay in his bed.
I call em as I see em.
Todays tweet from DDD is the height of stupidity. A ½page 10pt font article of many paragraphs and half a page of clearly readable advertisement for Stratasys
A GENEROUS COMPLIMENT.
This group is a distant second to the Keystone Cops. Can't wait to see how they promote HP
In an effort to promote their involvement with Australian auto design of the new Buick Avenir, DDD links to a page of a story covering DDD's involvement with Quickparts however the most prominent section of the page is an advertisement for SSYS printers.
Keystone cops have nothing on these guys

"I expect the company sales to go north in 2016 "
in situations like these, what one expects is irrelevant. I would not touch any 3D at this stage until the year to year comps improve and the specific company shows growth again in sales. at this moment that company can go to 6 or 10 depending on the news. Its all too muddy.
to make it worth, macro env is getting worst by the day. now we got a russai turkey displute over syria who manufacture kamikaze by the hundreds and may be next is a nato/russia dispute with energy cut in ukraine.
airfare is gonna get hit by less travel and all airlines will cut buying planes. so if someone was hot about airbus making 3 d parts, i may be i would watch closely that part of things
If sales turn north, I would want more. 3rd quarter sales were very disappointing. I expect 4th quarter to be lower than last year too. However, I expect the company sales to go north in 2016 and $20 is a value of only $2.5 B, which is not very much in this market. A tender for $5.0 B means a $40 stock. There are many potential buyers who could pay $5.0 -$10.0 B.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I own Stratasys as well and don't think this will affect DDD in any way but positive. All it shows me is that R&D continues unabated in both companies despite depressed stock prices and layoffs.
I don't believe there will be a "game changer" that wipes out any one company. Rather, companies will ultimately find their specialty. For example, PRLB and MTLS will continue being service labs, SSYS and DDD will continue being both service labs and hardware manufacturers. SSYS may expand it's service lab presence, while DDD expands it medical presence. The eventual market for AM will be enormous, enough for dozens of players perhaps, before M&A takes place.
Carbon3d and HPQ should come out with some interesting technology in 2016, but it will take at least two years from the launch to ramp up distribution, maintenance, customer service, production, etc.
We'll see. 2016 should be an interesting year.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
yeah, I made the list.... thanks....
you got a specific statute in mind? or just blowing smoke rings out your #$%$
