It also looks like Morningstar ratings moved up from 3 starts to 4 stars on June 29th.

  • Ddd may return to $100 and 200 in the future
I agree with shorts, management is a main issue
They need to be replaced ASAP
It seems they work with shorts to pump at $90+ and keep silent when this is 18
Just no enough evidence or proof to get them charged
    IMO

  • Holding Long and Strong........I may look underwater on paper, but I have no losses....because I have not and will not sell out! I am INVESTED in the company.

    3D Printing Shanghai 2015

    by chuck3tempe Jul 1, 2015 9:02 PM

Actually, just six short weeks ago DVD held a three hour webcast from their research facility in Wilsonville Oregon. They gave analysts a tour of the facility and talk about pretty much everything the company has done, is currently doing, and is planning to do. The only thing they didn't talk about was the stock price. Earnings may be low for the rest of the year, but one thing is clear : DDD is pulling out all the stops and doing everything possible to remain a leader in this field . They have doubled down on channel sales , capacity , and research and development , and the products they will be coming out with in 2016 will be radically improved from anything we have seen before . So, in fact, DDD has been extremely communicative . What they do not do, is try to manipulate the stock price, and they never have. For this reason, all of these silly lawsuits have no merit .

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

I don't understand. If I sold it last week on the basis of Zacks recommendation, how can I hold something I don't own? That's the problem with the analysts: all of the recommendation terminology makes little sense. Even the target prices don't make sense since it is unclear what the target date is. Wouldn't you like to see either buy or sell and a limit price? For example: buy to 24, or sell to 18, etc. Then investors could use the relationship of the current price to the limit to decide whether the buy was strong or weak, or whether to hold.

Seems to me that management should be cautious about releasing any sort of information. You never know how it will be misinterpreted and used against the company.

Think about those who sold NFLX in 2012 for $54?

    by oilfool803 Jul 2, 2015 12:48 AM

What is hilarious is to see someone compare NFLX as a cloud based company with smart management to a hardware driven mismanaged company. also they have a VERY appealing mainstream market and they remain overvalued for reasons.. Would I buy ? no but I understand why the premium so shorting it is not an option . Here i dont understand the premium placed i that stock even at $20

Very few predict DDD will go BK, Simply is is hardly a stock which you'll make money as a long. It may never recover. Look at RMBS being shot in the late 90s if you want to see parrallel. They were supposed to the THE RDRAM company being full of very smart techs.
Time has value to most people. Having may be a return in 5 to 10 years in a thing of the past. New companies nowadays show up out of nowhere being multibillions in a couple of years.

Apples and Orangesd however, if you want to make that compariosn:

Netflix has over 60 MILLION subscribers and continues to grow every week! My 4K television has a Netflix button on it for quick access to the app. This is the entertainment industry and they are competing with cable providers now as cord cutters grow.

DDD on the other hand does not have the consumer base to be at the level your describing. I am not here to bash DDD, but to be realistic on the 3D industry as much as possible.

Given time (years down the road) when the bulk of manufacturing is done by 3D printing, when most households have a 3D printer, when you can go to office depot and get your refill materials, THEN and ONLY THEN will the stock be of intrinsic value.

Lets face it, Motley Fool did a fantastic job pumping the 3D market to where it was so overvalued, there was only one direction it could go.

On top of that, you have dozens of law firms going after DDD now, they had shipment delay issues, failing quarter after quarter, last but not least, in reality the stock is currently worth $11.31 per share.

And the REAL QUESTION is going to be, when 3D printing becomes MAINSTREAM, will DDD be one of the major players? GE and Boeing are getting into it and the have the capital to not only surpass DDD technologically, they also have the pipeline to push and distribute their products.

    Sentiment: Strong Sell

  • NFLX was $300 in 2011, had lots of bad news just like DDD, went down to $54 in 2012. I'm sure there were shorts bashing the stock saying that they were going bankrupt. There are shorts here bashing DDD saying it is going bankrupt, lol. NLFX is trading at $650 currently. I would hate to miss the ride DDD is going to have in the near future. Buy when there is fear - plenty of that going around.

  • I checked and then double checked the numbers again.

What is with all the pumpers for a stock that is all hype?

    Sentiment: Strong Sell

  • Hey pal, if you don't like the stock and don't want to own it don't buy it . It seems rather stupid you spend so much time here for a stock you have no interest in.
I have done quite well with it, I remain confident in the 3D space and fully expect DDD to do rather well if not immediately then over the next 12 months. If you have issues with my posts you can always exercise the ole ignore button but you're too afraid you might miss something right?

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

The books are fine, I checked myself. They sent them out to me the same day they sent them to you. Lol
Some of the post on this board are hilarious! Promises (promesses?)might be the correct spelling.

  • stop the smoke screen DD. The books smell. They promessed the moon and did not deliver. You dont buy, you tell people you are and tell them to buy but you dont. If you would be a real long with real money, you would not bombast like you do now in these times. You would be mortified because stocks going this way have more shoes to drop.

You dont answer pointed questions, you skew them with troll sentences.

no one should buy a stock just because "it is the same price as 4 years ago"! Revenue tripled? may be but WS expected more and certainly not to see these revenues cost more than they bring. Growth of 30% for a "hot technology " does not cut it.

I got news for you, stocks can go down to the pennies. I experienced it, and I have my own doubt about their books. If anything turns up, all longs are cooked. but again at 1c you may still say its all fine because that is what trolling is all about

books are no good. indication of awfull handling of the money. cost more that a $ to generate a $. Outlandish and unbleivable forecast, ongoing excuses and promesses, R&D increase spending potentially caused by dishing out bonuses. things are quite unclean. W.S stabbed in the back by that crew. A NO-nbo rule on W.S

  • I feel ddd did deceive share holders with false reports, false promises, and scams.....

  • This is being held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center on July 7-9th, according to the internet. DDD seems to have a history of not reporting that they will be at these type of expos until just a few days before (example, the Shanghai Expo held June 4-7, 2014 was announced by DDD on June 2nd).

On another note, on April 6th, 2015, 3D Systems purchased Easyway Design and Manufacture Co. and other elements of the Easyway Group as a way to extend its 3D scanning and prototyping in China.

***Does anyone besides me think (hope) that DDD has been silent lately as they plan to attend the 3D Expo in China and reveal what they have been doing the last few months?***

  • Publications bad mouth the firm regularly, when that fails you go to the ambulance chasers and promise them a little cash, when that doesn't appear to have effect you get an underwriter to make a prophetic statement like , they could miss or not.

Bottom line is you have a stock trading at levels of 4 years ago. Revenue has tripled since that time, relationships have grown, the DOD is interested in having them do work for them and several of the more significant segments of the business are growing at 30% or more.

You buy with both hands when this stuff happens and you ride out the storm.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy
