The problem is not with their customer service, the problem is with ebay's policies and the fact that they have set it up that their customer service cannot solve problems. The fact that buyers perception is used to penalize sellers is outrageous. Most buyers do not know how freight works..so to allow them to give feedback without information is problematic...but the fact that ebay knows how much freight was paid by the seller and refuses to reverse bad seller ratings is bad business. In addition to the fact that they do not explain their policies very well , they phrase things in ways that are very misleading. A lot of the negative ratings that sellers are receiving would be eliminated if ebay took the time to educate CUSTOMER as well SELLERS.
For instance, you automatically get 5 stars if you offer free freight is not the same as you will get 5 stars if your buyer fills out the feedback form AND the detailed seller form. They also do not tell you that the detailed feedback is evaluated once a month and that they are one month behind.
The send you LONG notices telling you that ALL ebayers will get free listings between Nov 20-25. After reading the entire notice I listed 10 items during the time frame but was charged listing fees. I went back a second time and re-read the listing and could not figure out why I was not included but after clicking on the rules section I was taken to another page that told me that because I was below standard I was not eligible.
1. Ebay has the ability to send free listing notices to only those sellers who they want to receive the free listings.. The refer to it as by invitation only.
2. Ebay should state up front that if you are below standard that you will not get listings.
3. EBAY should care more about selling and less about punishing their sellers
4. Ebay should be offering free listings to EVERYONE for the holidays. The more items listed the more sales for BOTH EBAY and BELOW Standard SELLERS.
If you look at the volume the last week and some of the individual prints that have hit the tape I think it's pretty clear that there is a large seller/sellers around, i.e. fido, T rowe, etc. That doesn't mean there isn't a fundamental problem compelling the sellers. But for now this just seems like aggresive trader action. In addition, I think that the seller is large enough to have scared off any buyers. When the volume dries up the stock will rally as buyers holding off now will probably all try to get through the door the same time. This happens frequently.
You talk BIG but take NO action
YOU didn't make a dime shorting Ebay because you don't have a dime to spare.
No! Hold off until this puppy consolidates much lower, actually at this price there are much better alternatives paying nice dividends,do some research in dividend yield stocks and your eyes will open wide.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
$46. $44. $41.,then the Alibaba IPO could hammer this early 2014,more risky then TSLA right now!
Sentiment: Strong Sell
There has not always been Alibaba,do your research and open your eyes or get burned once Alibaba and Yahoo announce the IPO early 2014,you can fall in love with a stock too much and you clearly have!
Sentiment: Strong Sell
I agree with EBay "this is the cost of doing business." And you shouldn't sell and ship to certain countries in the first place. Italy is certain one high risk area I will avoid. My mom visited Italy last year. She said thieves, robbers and pick-pockets are everywhere in Italy. Even in higher end hotels, thieves try to sneak in the rooms and take the valuable.
I disagree. I called their customer service a few times. I am 100% satisfied each time. They serve their buyers really well, better than Amazon or other retails.
But I can imagine their sellers won't be too happy about that if they don't follow EBay/PayPal guidelines.
Wow! Thanks for elucidating the true investor experience and showing holding the bag is not the way to treat ebay, if you really want to make money. LOL!
Thanks for elucidating the true ebay seller experience. Actual knowledge is in short supply up here. LOL.
I sell alot on ebay since 2000 and im done with it this year... yes i will sell the occasional high end item but i wont be using it anymore to supplement my income.. its too much of a headache for the prices you get anymore.. my guess is eventually 20s after the first of the year..
Wow! Where is that little crowd of babbling spamming Ebay jabber monkeys who screamed here that ebay was going to $60? How much money did you make lying to investors 'ebay excited' 'all one poster' and 'sulliedinmama' and their hundreds of IDs? Ebay hated $50 so bad it shook $49 off faster than a pumper sheds its credibility, and now it wants to shake $49 off like an old wet dog. One can make a lot of cash here by never listening to the idiots. A lot of serious serious cash.
Stop Faqqing crying already, you're starting to sound like ole Sully here.
