Atp, thanks for your referral to that very interesting video. In response to the video one of the comments by a physician was the following:
"I have been discussing biological therapy as the future for oncology since my residency and especially during my Fellowship at Duke Cancer Center in the late 1980s. Antibody based therapy in particular has always seemed to me to have the greatest potential. With clinical studies like this ( as per Dr. Cheson ) and all the other recent findings from studies on solid tumors, it appears certain that Monoclonal Antibodies will increasingly supplant older, cytotoxic chemotherapy. Over the next 5-10 years, there will be an accelerated rise in the use of antibody treatment and a corresponding decline in the use of chemotherapy. I am reminded of what Dr Robert Oldham said to me in 1983, " Biological Therapy will become the Fourth Modality for the treatment of neoplastic diseases."
There is an interesting video by Bruce Cheson at Georgetown Cancer center regarding Nivolumab and brentuximab. You can probably view it after googling his name. Apparently he has written a protocol combining the 2 drugs to treat frontline HL and it has been approved by the FDA and seeking enrollment at some major sites. Dr. Cheson is big on seeking to eliminate systemic chemo drugs and appeared very excited about the prospects of combining these two agents.
As to yesterdays news, Adcetris does have a failure rate and it is great to try other alternatives should patients fail with Adcetris, but Adcetris ' success rate to my eyes is superior to nivo or pembro. I think the trials mentioning followup to prior Adcetris treatment is more in recognition that it is the gold standard and will be frontline. I haven't seen anything shown to be more effective. But if these PD-!'s can provide some success to some of the patients that do fail, all the best. And the combo trials may have even greater results.
Right. As others noted, exactly four shares traded at that price and only 45 shares traded at a similarly depressed price. As usual, someone was trying to mess with our heads.
Thanks for the input bull and w1. Did not get to look at the board until late evening, missed the time stamp on the news and jumped to confusion. Thats good, I already have more shares than is prudent but I'll hold the cash just in case.
I saw that too about the 4 shares and was going to post ""not to freak out" because it was total stock manipulation. Why wouldn't koolbrez check it out in after hrs. to see how many shares traded at that price. That should have been the first thing to do instead of trying to explain in detail. Geeez
The $ 2.82 drop in SGEN share price is due to dumb money and the lack of reading comprehension. The positive results of Opdivo in post transplant/post Adcetris patients is actually the precursor of the Adcetris/Opdivo combination trial currently in the work actually proving to be close to a 100% cure for HL. As of now it is not a replacement for Adcetris as I suppose the AH reaction is interpreting it, and will have no impact on Adcetris revenue. As clearly stated, the indication is for post SCT and post Adcetris treatmet,
There will likely be some trigger happy selling tomorrow and I have some cash available (not a whole lot but enough for a couple hundred shares) to take advantage of it and buy the dip this time.
caused the stock to tank. NVAX did the same thing in Jan. and it also tanked to new lows. If SGEN ever goes that route to get some desperately needed cash, run for the hills.
Baker Brother is CERS' single largest shareholder (like SGEN), with CERS' Institutional Ownership at 70 percent.
Quote above from CERS' CEO in early March 2016 as they prepare to launch their product in Europe...
U.S. launch over the last 75 days has gained 80% U.S. market share...
CERS has less than 100 million shares outstanding, and about $110 million dollars cash on hand!
Don't quite understand the question. All of the purchases appear in the Bakers' SEC filings, which is the important thing, and you can find links to them on SGEN's website. (Also, each purchase has been noted on this message board, many with followup discussions.) If you're referring to the Yahoo finance page dedicated to SGEN, only SEC filings made by SGEN itself will show up there. The Bakers are required to make their own SEC filings regarding their purchases of SGEN shares, so those transactions wouldn't show up on a list of SEC documents filed by SGEN.
Where's the money going to come from to pay the salaries of these 100 new employees since they reported a loss last quarter. Maybe a reverse split? That's all they have left since they can't do another secondary that also bombed. This stock is at the same price it was 3 yrs. ago. The only winners are the day traders in these bio scams. I am sure many of you have learned it's the way to go and it could be the reason SGEN keeps stalling out. Even if it gets bought out the gains would be the same as new shares were purchased with profits costing nothing to these very traders that profit each week. Now that's how ya make money. It's like the insiders getting free shares/options and selling the next day. There's more than one way to beat the crooks. Watch what they do and play right along side but get out before it becomes another MNKD.
Sorry you weren't smart enough to take your gains for 3 years of ups and downs. Even if this hits 50 bucks, I am way ahead of the game daytrading. Too bad you also held CLDX and never took huge gains several times. You will learn some day how to trade and make money. Who ever said you cannot buy SGEN and go long after several profit taking days and really come out with compounded gains? I myself will not gamble with this bio but am playing with other BAKER bull_ _ _ _ stocks they have bought but I refuse to pay more per share than they entered at. ACAD ANAC
It appears from the grayed out (ignored) original post that you are responding to the multi-aliased, thinking-challenged, only-shows-up-on-red-days troll known here under the following names: fstout57/rickarooski/quadhole/quadhole1/mauihope/smelky/etc. His elevator never reaches the top floor. Take it from board veterans: It's really better not to feed the troll.
