You're very ill informed.....probably a low information voter too. I traded HP stock in those days. The board was very reluctant to engage in the acquisition of Compaq. Carly pushed for it looking at the long term. She finally convinced them but there was some board members that still had some reservations. The stock plunged after the acquisition as often is the case with major acquisitions but the plunge was exacerbated by the bursting of the tech bubble. (I made a lot of money on that one.) However, that gave reason for some board members to say, "see, I told you so" mainly a jealous Walter Hewlett, so she was terminated. However, she and her leadership was proven correct.
The Compaq deal, and other acquisitions, helped HP double its revenue from $42 billion in 1999 to $86 billion in 2005 during Fiorina’s tenure and it did make HP the world’s leading PC supplier. Albeit at a time when profits in the PC business were slim.
So dam correct diesel and econ. If this is borrowing from the future is not controlled ,it in it's self could lead to a U S failure. What are the people receiving or" collecting a check" going to do when the Government runs out of other peoples money. We are close to a crisis. Anarchy?
Actually, all the men brought their own own ladies....they're called wives. However, I have sent an invitation to Paul McCartney to come for a free ride on my bass boat if he would agree to entertain me and my guess. I think he would enjoy it. The saloon has a Steinway baby grand piano and we have an excellent sound system. If he catches any bass, the chef will clean them and cook them for him. It would be safe too, We have two doctors on board and no women can hop off with a substantial part of his fortune, especially one legged ones because we don't have any one legged ones on board.
The board at HP admitted afterward that they only used Carly to close the deal with Compaq and to downsize the company afterward. They had no intention of keeping her, they just used her as the bad guy and then cut her loose. Carly just didn't notice herself being used that way until it was just about a done deal.

"... we need a president who will think about the next generation."
And you believe a Republican will do that? You might want to consider revisiting what went on during Dubya's eight years as president. ROFL
Sir, I knew Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs was a friend of mine. Sir, Carly Fiorina is no Steve Jobs.
Tax evasion is a crime, tax avoidance is perfectly legal. Don't get the two mixed up. These people cheated.
"Of those 13,000 cases, 1,580 were deemed to be intentional cheaters, and they were sent to managers for discipline. But in 60 percent of the cases, the managers refused to fire the employees.
Among the abuses were employees who repeatedly failed to file their returns on time, those who intentionally inflated their expenses and those who claimed the stimulus homebuyer’s tax credit without actually buying a home."
Good post. I think the Fed is between a rock and a hard place. The Obama administration has inccured such a massive increase in the federal debt that it would be catastrophic if interest rates were raised to normal levels. Every time they even hint of an increase, the market dives.
"There is no recovery; the labor force has collapsed," he said, drawing applause from the audience.”
Absolutely true, no matter how much Obama lies about the millions of job his administration has supposedly created, there has been zero, zilch, nada job growth. In fact the labor participation rate has steadily gone down ever since Obama took office.
Ask Mir. Did they cheat, or did they just interpret tax law to their favor? One person's loophole is another person's jail sentence.

The IRS refused to fire most of its own employees found to be cheating on their taxes — and in some cases even quickly turned around and promoted them within the year, according to a new audit released Wednesday.
In about 60 percent of cases of “willful violations” IRS managers found mitigating circumstances and refused to fire the employees, even though the law calls for that penalty. In some of those cases the managers didn’t even document why they’d overridden the penalty, said Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration J. Russell George.
“Given its critical role in Federal tax administration, the IRS must ensure that its employees comply with the tax law in order to maintain the public’s confidence,” Mr. George said. “Willful violation of the law by IRS employees should not be taken lightly, and the IRS Commissioner should fully document decisions made to retain employees whom management has proposed be terminated.”
"We can clearly see from Kerry being totally snookered by Iran, Russia and the Chinese what a terrible President he would have been."
Absolutely true.....the proof of it is before our eyes but never think the truth will persuade a Democrat.
Don't forget: a lot of people served in VietNam as the only alternative to jail. Most went on to server honorably and well. Some did not. It would not be much of a stretch to find some of those willing to assassinate the character of a military officer or civilian authority, especially for money. And to denigrate those few is not to denigrate the good service put in by millions of others. One of my brother's first duties in VietNam was to guard LBJ, Long Bin Jail. It was a barbwire fence inclosing drug addicts and dissidents that could not be counted on by their units. Not everyone was a good soldier.
