I was able to buy only 100 shares at 19, had enough to buy around 160 in one of my acct, but it filled only 100. I have owned this stock since it was called cifra. Never paid that much attention to it. But really started to follow it the last 6 months are so. Was lucky enough to have loaded up at a little over $20.00. Current trends suggest that was a real good buy.
The stock has dropped 44% and now that they have taken some of the costs out of the system and the Mexican govt has made some needed adjustments, perhaps we can and least get back to the high and go from there. I am hoping for a 30-32 range to match the 2 year high.
Anyone know when the ex dividend date is? We are finally getting some good news on this stock. I tried to buy as much as I could afford when it was in the 20's and high 19,s. Glad I did. The rest of the year looks promising.
Thanks for your input I was in Mazatlan last year and they were building a superstore at the time and some of the locals were looking forward to it. But, I have heard comments like yours as well. Supposedly they have nearly 20% of the Mexican market and the bigger stores aren't fairing so well anymore. I am still holding out that they will get their act together and start growing share again. Smaller stores that appeal to the locals look like the way to go going forward.
I live in Costa Rica where Wal Mart Mexico has purchased a lot of our grocery stores. These stores are now the most expensive grocery stores in the country. They are pooerly stocked, lots of expired products on the shelves and stock people always in the way. The "luxury" grocery chain has lower prices. I would sell the stock!
