Like the people of Pompeii used to say, "Oh, don't worry about the smoke coming from the mountain. . . it always does that!"
Sentiment: Strong Buy
The wondeful world of lasers NOW being discovered as the next big Bang for just about everything... MicroVision Facebook..
Lasers could divert lightning from buildings (Wired UK)
Optical scientists have developed a method of sending laser beams through the atmosphere over unprecedented distances; the technology could pave the way for new kinds of detectors and systems for guiding lightning away from buildings.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
BTW, i think the cost concern is done and over with by now and it's in a stage of negotiations on fees and royalties.......
SB#2...."You go Boy"? I appreciate condescension for the time honored belittling technique that it is, however don't you feel your ID as a bit more of the old school conservative flavor and so this particular youth associated expression seems inconsistent with a #2 statement? Perhaps that would be more appropriate under a different alias? Think about it please, but good effort.
Characterizing Microvision's position as dire as an underlying premise to the overt bash regarding silence from Tokman shows some improvement over and above a simple rehash of the old "Why doesn't he promote the company until they drag him off to jail?" approach. It does carry the added benefit that if he were indeed to read your post and actually take your advice, he might be manipulated into self annihilation. This could set you apart from some of the others. Please continue along this vein. It is suitably annoying.
Unfortunately for investors you have hit the nail on the head. Tokman has no credibility due to his dishonesty.
sensibull2, What would you suggest ? That I trash my own stock? Is that what you want to hear? No way. I am a firm believer in MVIS tech and I think they will have a share of the market. I also believe they will announce a contract with a big company very soon. i will voice my OPINION any darn time I want. If you don't like it then tough crap. Its my opinion that you are a whiner and complainer. I bet you got kicked around a lot at the school yard. Never got over it huh? Thought so. LOL
My "cautious investing style"? Really? That's what you think my style is?
As I have spoken of several times, especially lately, I have been trading with a pool of money. That pool of money has grown by over $4,000 in the week since I sold Microvision for a loss of less than $100. I have MADE money in the last week. What has Microvision made you?
I think you are confusing "cautious" with irresponsible and losing trading. You have made neither money or shares on your investment in Microvision while I have made money and will be able to buy more shares when I do next buy.
Pom-pom wavers just don't seem to be able to get that concept and think anyone making a profit is somehow unloyal or actively trying to harm the company. Nothing I do harms the company but everything the company does has harmed you.
That is the frustation with MVIS. This company has been run like non profit organization. All the issues should have been addressed 5 years ago. Sony was able to fix the image distortion by preprocessing the image in the video processor. You distort the image contrary to LBS distortion and give a good final image.
I find it hard to believe that this was only recently applied for. It has been know that the scan is faster in the middle of its path and there was the issue of "raster pinch :The combined motion of the two scanners form a sinusoidal raster in the vertical direction and cause non-uniform line spacing for the case of bidirectional scanning as if the forward and return half-period raster lines are pinched near the edge of the display screen"
Seems they could have modulated slower at the edges but now they modulate faster at the center?
Is this something simple that was just overlooked? Seems kind of obvious.
But, if I were to venture a guess, I would say Tolkman is keeping silent for the same reason I no longer discuss this "pot of gold" with my family and friends............You cannot predict that which is out of your control. The tech is good and when its time comes the price will go up. Then I will say to them, "Oh yeah, I told you about that one 20 years ago, LOL"
"Their cost of manufacturing MEMS mirror/assembly and the ASICs are fairly well known and quite low."
Can you show some links? This is the main concern right now.
No answer for you (not that you asked me ) but all the more reason for you with your cautious investing style to stay away from this company and its tech......I'm just holding for the most part.
This is actually a genuine concern. The cost of the existing ShowWX was high due to 3 parameters:
Off the shelf components.
Cost of SHGLs or cost of newly introduced DGLs.
Going forward, the economies of volume should kick in.
Their cost of manufacturing MEMS mirror/assembly and the ASICs are fairly well known and quite low.
Having an OEM(Sony) build the other components and assemble the unit will become fully automated.
The only cost that could still be high is the DGL but if you assume Sony is going to make their own "projector" then the cost of the lasers is no longer an issue.
Volume and automation are the answers to the cost, and it will have to come from a large OEM, ala Sony.
I thought you were talking about DGL.
Yeah, I can ask. I'll let you know what I hear.
All very interesting there DGL. You go Boy!!
Now riddle me this. With all the patent talk over this past long weekend, people like Boeing and even The Government liking Microvision for the technology, why do you suppose, even in Microvision's dire position, that Tokman would chose to say absolutely nothing to either defend the company and the stock or, better yet, to actively PROMOTE Microvision and its technology?
What could possibly be the reason or purpose of remaining silent? Why wouldn't he be shouting from every roof top in The Pacific Northwest? There are a huge story they could now tell without infringing on any NDA's.
So why can't the dummy Tokman put a little wind in the sail?
My opinion is this is the last chance to get it so cheap. Developments are going to heat up from here on. I expect we will be hearing news pretty soon. Maybe a contract with big bucks. That would send these shares over ten bucks imho.
