NGG did not reduce the dividend. Yahoo reports it incorrectly because of the variable amounts of the January and August payments.
The finance industry loves to charge fees.
There's no question there's a lot of companies out there abusing consumers with their "fees" by advertising a low rate on some service and then adding in numerous fees after they have you signed up.
"Fees" not imposed by the government should be illegal or, at a minimum, there should be full disclosure before you do business an organization as to all fees that will be assessed. I don't think that's always done very well.
If the currency exchange rate gets up to around $1.68 per Pound or NG.L trades in London at 8.50 Pounds per share, NGG should hit $70.00. They are both headed in the right direction now. Let us know if you get out at $70. I'll stay in until -I don't know - how about $80??
I believe I saw a $2.00 fee on my account with last August's dividend payment. NG started charging this fee last year. Why? Because they can.
Banks that process ADR's for foreign companies often collect a fee from brokers for processing dividend payments. This is to offset their cost for currency exchange and anything else related. Bank of New York handles the ADR's for National Grid. What I don't understand is why they just started this with the Jan. 2014 payout. It's a small amount so I wasn't too concerned but I'm glad you brought it up.
Anyone else know why this change?
Looked at my account...was charged a processing fee by the ADR for my dividend reinvestment(slightly less than 1% of total dividend). I have never seen this type of fee before. Anyone experience this with the 1/24 dividend?
I've held this stock for several years now and thought the January 2014 was scheduled for payment on January 16, yesterday. I've not seen it yet. Anyone else have this delay?
Appears that you are correct dwg. Any predictions for the future? Note - I bought this @ $48.50.....plan to sell (if it ever gets there) @ $65.50.
