Why WGL Holdings is the 'Top Dividend Stock of the Dow Utilities' With 3.0% Yield

    May 2016

The current annualized dividend paid by WGL Holdings Inc is $1.95/share, currently paid in quarterly installments, and its most recent dividend has an upcoming ex-date of 07/06/2016. Below is a long-term dividend history chart for WGL, which the report stressed as being of key importance. Indeed, studying a company's past dividend history can be of good help in judging whether the most recent dividend is likely to continue.

    Sentiment: Buy

  • This stock going to 70 no matter who is elected..

  • Hi Mrcapitain. 2 billing cycles with WGL have occurred since this message and, well, their website still says they're fixing it so it seems they still have all their Top Men on the project. I've got to tell you that I've used the phone payment method twice now. Run by Online Resources (see ticker ACIW). FIVE MINUTES to pay a $70 bill thru the phone. What a disaster.

I really don't understand it. At the current price I have a 150+ percent gain. Of course I built my position in 2008 and 2009 (@31 to 33), but still, it's a silly utility, for heaven's sake!

Look at the Price Now... 70.... Less then 6 months later!

  • mrcapitain, I see you're trying to be helpful but I'm not "new" to autopay (I pay all recurring bills this way) and I'm familiar with WG's pay-by-phone. At end of Feb, after 3 billing cycles and no debits to my checking account, I used the phone pay system, paid via credit card, confirmation received, zero balance. Um, 4 days later -- WHAM -- WG's system came to life and debited my checking account for the old balance (3 winter months amounting to several hundred dollars). Sufficient funds and I knew what happened -- but I think older people like my parents would be perplexed. And darn frightened by getting a Service Disconnect notice in the mail for "failing" to pay.

    Sentiment: Hold

  • The following payment options are also available to you:

Call our automated payment line at 703-750-7944 to make a phone payment with a check or credit card.
Contact our customer service center at 703-750-1000 for assistance with a payment. Customer service hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The center is closed on Sundays.
There are no transaction fees for payments made through these methods. Late fees will be waived for customer payments delayed by the implementation of the new portal.

With the benefit of hindsight, Washington Gas has concluded that the test program for the recently launched website enhancements did not adequately cover the full spectrum of point-of-failure scenarios. This shortcoming, if addressed differently, could have improved the login, performance and billing issues experienced by our customers. We stand ready to address remaining issues any customer is experiencing as we continue to work toward providing an online experience our customers expect and deserve.
Washington Gas Customer Service ut the @nd Part in where it says LATE FEES will be WAIVED..

  • Buyer Beware! As of 3/9/2016 WGL's Washington Gas posted this on their website:
"Between December 2015 and February 2016, some E-Bill customers were not receiving their E-Bill notices. During the same time period, some E-Bill AutoPay (EBAP) customers were neither receiving their E-Bill notices nor having their bank accounts debited for their monthly natural gas. For Automated Check (ACH), the scheduled payments for some customers were not processed or withdrawn from customer bank accounts for their monthly natural gas use during the same time period."

    Sentiment: Hold

  • You must be "new" to Auto Pay.. You have 2 choices either allow WGL to set it up or MOST BANBKING institutions will set it up for you, the paper bill will stop coming to you & you go PAPERLess, then you get a Email reminder ONLINE generally 1 week to 10 days before your bill is due ( that is if you wish to have a reminder) . Have most of my bills Verizon, Sprint. Electric, etc Medical etc.. set up. Save postage and worry about not being paid on time. Both Navy Federal Credit Union and Suntrust Bank do this for me. No fee bing charged either to do this. You had better get with the program.. or contact your banking providor, am sure thay will help you with this process.
