why would disney buy. they sell the license to star wars ip and take no risk. if microsoft bought would lose half of sales immediately if cut off PlayStation. google has shown no interest in big budget games. why would they buy studio that supplies two rival consoles? too shutter it? at 21 billion cost to google?
i agree i sold too low bought at $16 sold in $40's but looking to get in if price is right. everyone doesn't realize how much they pay for nfl , nhl, ufc and star wars licenses. when is all said and done they dont make as much as you would think. original ip is where its at.
Nope, nope, nope and nope. Your not seeing the total picture. Use the Force and look again.

Downtrend discovered. Star Wars Battlefront will underperform. Disney will likely re-evaluate there relationship with EA. EA is bad for the Star Wars Brand. I expect a 10%+ decline in the next few weeks. After that it may do well. Long term this company knows only 1 thing. How to bank on established franchises. They have little to no skill at building them. If they can finally do that, then they will do well.
Plenty of company's could acquire EA and this list will only get larger as gaming and streaming continue to grow worldwide... another generation of gamers/streamers coming on board every day. BO speculation is never a primary reason to buy any stock (IMO), hover I own EA (and GME) and may take this opportunity to add a little EA during tax selling YE15.
I'll keep this short and sweet...Google "Penny Stock 101 org' signup for their free newsletter and get their next trade alert. Come back and thank me tomorrow!
... Freedom of speach doesn't protect you to slander! GME needs to go away, just like the dinosaurs, unlike "The Good Dinosaur"!!, which is going to be a huge movie and a great game for the 7-15 yr. olds. $90-100, end of this Dec.!!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Game Stop said they expected demand to ramp up as the release approaches and then after the movie is out. This is a buying opportunity even if it's just a move back to mid 70s.
Today was brutal, but I still believe that EA goes higher once Black Friday and Cyber Monday arrives, then works it's way over $80 right before the movie launch.
I'm not really speaking based off of Gamestop's numbers either, I know they don't mean much.
I'm simply talking about the hype being dead since the game didn't live up to expectations.
Mainstream reviews aren't going to kill this game, but worth of mouth among gamer's is huge.
That's the thing though, people have been waiting for a new Battlefront game for FOREVER.. but what they got was a huge disappointment.
This is a stripped down Battlefield game with Star Wars Skins.
I disagree. Here are some counter points:
- People have been wanting a new Battlefront game for almost a decade now. The hype behind the game is huge.
- The Star Wars movie is just around the corner. The hype behind that is even bigger. Star Wars will be the hottest topic of December so you can bet the newest Star Wars game will be bought by association (or just as a holiday gift).
- Believe it or not, reviews are not everything. Tons of games sell gangbusters despite "mixed" reviews.
- The "mixed" reviews are based off "low content". EA is rectifying this with the Season Pass DLC content.
- GameStop's data actually doesn't mean much. There are many other avenues to purchase a hard copy of the game.
- Digital copies are also not tracked by GameStop. Digital copies also carry a margin almost 2x that of a hard copy.
I'm sure there are a few more reasons why the recent sell offs are over done. I suspect once the irrational/uneducated fear dies down that we'll see a lofty bump.
Biggest grossing game of...? All Time? The year?
Neither will be true.
The truth is.. it's not looking good for Star Wars Battlefront. If sales are already less than anticipated.. then it's not going to turnaround.
Word of mouth gets around between gamer's that the game just isn't that good.. it's boring after a few hours.
Thus, other gamer's will decide not to buy it.
The biggest mistake EA made was releasing that beta, they lost so many pre-orders and a lot of interest in the game with the lackluster beta. The game just didn't live up to expectations.
... if 'memos' are initiated against GME. 'Battlefront' sales are not relevent to their Q3. Moreover, their sales "expectations" of Battlefront are a false metric and accusation. It's just speculation and blaming, not quantitative, nor reflective of 'their' underperforming business operations. I smell lawsuits a cookin'
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Game Stop just wanted to knock EA down a bit ....but I believe Star wars will most likely be a $20 million release in few months ....EA revised their sales estimate form 9 million to 13 million ...expect them to revise this again .
Agreed as far as EA. But would wait for GME. My other holdings for X-Mas/Star Wars are DIS and HAS.
I feel very confident in these three holdings. EA gets the benefit of both Star Wars/X-Mas and football season.
