1. They have those. It's called chicken strips
2. Most burger joints don't prepare food in front of customers
3. Every restaurant has microwaves
4. Corporate might be able to afford $10/hr, but the franchises can't
5. The menu is a mess
It's too late for MCD. Their reputation used to be good fast food for cheap, decades ago. It then became mediocre fast food for cheap 20 years ago. The past 5-7 years it has become disgusting fast food that is expensive. I used to drop by there on roadtrips and sometimes for lunch. Not in the past 5 years. MCD got too greedy, trying to squeeze more profits out and destroyed their reputation for an entire generation of potential customers.
Food quality is always a plus......But then again you do want to go upscale and then some other company goes down scale where you use to be........Mcd"s easiest changes are QUIT YELLING OUT ORDERS TO BE P/U...........I would like to and should be able to enjoy my meal without someone YELLING........Cut down the menu....small burgers and big burgers....Get rid of medium sizes across the board....Offer Mex for lunch and dinner......BIG burritos...not the pewee stuff offered for breakfast.....Offer soup/chili/baked potato's......Nothing wrong with copying the best menu around.......Wendy's....McD's problem has been that they have a price point then create a food item to fit......THAT DOES NOT WORK WELL.....Make a food item then put the price on it that is needed.....MUCH BETTER...
what will never happen? replacing Thompson? or replacing Thompson by bringing Skinner back?
I say that Thompson will be out within 3 to 6 month at the very most. Skinner coming back is a long shot, but given the right incentive package, he might - everyone has their price.
Actually, quite the opposite. The basics is thinking inside the box. Instead, they should consider acquiring or taking a stake in a portfolio of new growth restaurants and help put at least one of them on the same 50 year path MCD took. All the while, ridding of any underperforming assets.
People might respond to you if you didn't write the same thing on every message board. It just makes you look like a clueless pumper.
they need to get rid of Thompson quickly and if possible bring back Skinner.
everything that they are currently doing is failing and the guy at the top has got to take responsibility and get out of the way for someone who can do the job, because he cannot.
The giant does not sleep and drew a lots of loyal customer in my neighborhood. The warmer temperature this winter will drive up the sales. I guess the warming winter so far will drive up sales. The lower oil price means more people divert the gas dollars to MCD globally. Sales will pick up again as in the last ten years with more money for discretionary spending. . MCD is my first choice for 3.7% stable dividend with low payout ratio. I was talking to friends how lucky someone got a MCD franchise that turns into a money printing machine.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
True story. I was going home from a concert last Thursday around 11pm. Decided to stop at McDonalds and pick up a snack since I didn't have a chance to get dinner before the concert. I'm not a big fan of MCD but what else is open at that time? The first MCD I pull into I wait at the drive thru for 5 minutes and can't place an order because the cashier says there's another customer inside she is waiting on. Is she the only cashier and how long does it take to take an order from one customer inside? So I leave and decide to drop by the MCD close to my home. I order the McRib combo. I sit at the drive thru for 20 minutes with two cars in front of me. Then they walk out and serve the car behind me before the guy in front and I both get our food. So I go inside and they say they're cooking the McRib and it will take 5 more minutes. I get my money back and leave shaking my head. No wonder sales are falling. I'll NEVER go back to MCD again.
Who's "attacking" the coffee? Maybe MCD coffee is great and if you like it buy it. I couldn't say 'cause I do not patronize MCD. All I said was that you can a cup of coffee just about anywhere these days. I don't know of a good reason to go out of my way for one place or another. I can make a great cup of coffee at home with my Keurig so I don't need MCD or anyone else for that matter. Best of luck but understand this is a mature company and the best you can count on in the long run is the dividend.
it all changed when they went to the made to order system thats when service and the taste changed but the biggest problem is service not food and the prices seem to be going up faster then the industry ave.
Man, I know where you're coming from. I was in a hurry for a sales pitch for my software and I got a couple of breakfast sandwiches. The belly sounds hit me right during my presentation and hoping nobody else could hear the gurgling was squashed seeing faces trying to hold back snickers. Trying to keep my focus while all I could think of was getting to a toilet for a major blow out was awful. After I was done I got to their comfort facility and the laughter from a couple of guys in the room hearing the gas and liquid coming out was the most humiliating thing I've ever experienced. I think it was part of the reason I didn't get the sale.
This is the root cause of decking sales. Also go back to the oil you used for fries a decade ago. Today, there is no taste to the fries.
you are correct the masses are not grammar rodeo candidates ,but they eat the food and yes the poor are making the rules when it comes to consuming this swill.
no they rather eat bugs and dogs....................
