Would enjoy the unexpected Tuesday, if only to button the lip of Mr. Toldyouso.
Qurius on the boards take regarding the timing of today's announcement, in respect of whether the brass could have saved it for Tuesday or were they forced to announce sooner. Seems to me, there was intention in the timing. But since Mort won't take my call, not sure what to make of it.
Mort spell Qurios the same, by the way. We must be related.
Good Point, Garce; One Less Hour to wait for the #s and Words on Tuesday.
You and Bill are doing a Good Job debating this Bonding Issue.........
repetition is good when Trying to Understand the Possibilities.
TT the Price dipped and Closed @ 2.30 on Oct 3. 2011
caused by the Threatened Delisting after the Restatements by the New Auditor and the Delay in filing the 2nd Qtr's return.
Maybe the current bonding process is not the problem but a change in the standards required by customers
EXCELLENT point frank ... could well be .. maybe the spec was changed and Emagin felt the process was
robust enough , or the customers have increased their stress tests ... we're just guessing at this point ,
Tuesday we'll know more ... garce
I am only speculating here but could it be possible for example if the customer did a vibration test for X hours and the current bonding held but failed under increased Y hours testing ?
Or dropped it off a roof from a higher point ? LOL
Something like this could explain why previous bonding was not a problem but is under more "exacting standards" .
Just asking .
From the preliminary results PR :
"While we have advanced our technology leadership position and continue to make investments to improve our processes, display production and yield, we have yet to meet our goals, as certain of our defense customers have imposed more exacting standards than we have experienced in the past. We are working diligently to meet their requirements and achieve our yield improvement objectives. "
Seems as if they had a hint of this problem before .
Maybe the current bonding process is not the problem but a change in the standards required by customers .
He has proven he doesnt know what he is talking about. He thinks laser ablation is a made up term...he wants to immerse the screen in a solvent bath...this is why they have a seal process...to avoid moisture getting into the display and now you want to immerse the display....please ask them how they remove film from bond pads? Its a tricky process, laser ablation, an excimer laser that will remove film but not destroy bond pad
Garce you are a total idiot....so immerse the organic deposition in solvent...would imagine that would cause some issue with the screen...you have proven you are dangerous with the 'half knowledge' you have, Laser ablation is exactly what they do to open up bond pads...only thing that wont hurt the display at that point....just ask them
wow .. read my post ... it is a WIP issue , the customers don't want
any more defective parts , the WIP will be more accurate about the
size of the problem and associated costs .
Read the press release. The product went out the door and customers (plural) told eman of the problem. Its not a just a WIP issue. Its a quality assurance issue!! Why did eman not catch the problem product. My fear is that this was produced on the new machine.
yes , and every post reiterated that nobody know anything , it's just pure conjecture at this point ...
you can't just look at the pictures on posts , you have read the words , after that it's comprehension .. that's
a tough one , eh ??
1st thing this morning , there seemed to be panic on this board , i just try to mitigate it ...
you and bill (and shack somewhat) just want to rail against mgmt , yet none of you have ever worked around
development projects .. i've seen some doozies , including a critical platform(IBM) that saw leads in the
thermal hat on a huge project that wound up genning over 100 billion in revs , blew up about a week before
announcement of the new systems ... never got any press because nothing was shipped , but years of
development were put into the project ....
everything that has happened at Emagin so far , it pretty much de riguere for tech development ...
good afternoon .. garce
laser ablation ??? nice term bill , but that would be used for
cutting shorts , no removing resist or whatever else they are
using , that would be a bath process ....
Management keeps kicking the bright future down the road.
Well the management needs to own that they are steering the ship right into the rocks just like the Corncordia.
