It's simply a question of fair value. They have 17mil in cash and a 17 mil market cap. No reason to close the doors. Insurance takes care of lawsuits and all the lawsuits go away with one big contract or a buyout
Triumph of hope over experience, I guess. OPTT has complex expensive technology which generates relatively small amounts of electricity at a very high cost. Much like the early wind turbines and PV cells, this technology requires lengthy gestation and government supprot to prove out the operating and maintenance requirements over time and improve the technology. Unfortunately, without governments willing to subsidize, the path down the learning curve will be a path not taken. The company is now tainted and under siege. Shareholders not selling are brave and hopeful people.
OPTT is an oldie but a goodie. We've traded this one many times. It's a low float and can move a great deal quickly. If you are familiar with the patterns it forms you can learn how to extract a lot of one very quickly from this stock.
Does anybody know how much cash they have on hand? Yahoo says 17mil cash, no debt, and a 19mil market cap http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=OPTT+Key+Statistics
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Nowhere but up?? WHY? A takeover bid? New patents? Good pilot test results? New products? Attractive joint ventures? New large customers? Talented, shareholder-oriented management and governance? OPTT is 0 for 7 on these counts. So why a breakout -- are you just tracing a line on an OPTT price chart with your crayon?
Made some nice gains off OPTT through a Hulk Alerts. They sent out the alert pretty early in the day. Reaped the rewards if you do your due diligence. Check them out on yahoo or google if you want their alerts.
