I own 1000 shares at about 17. I like REITs for income and also capital appreciation over time. I definitely wanted exposure to the gas station / convenience store sector. Those facilities are so useful to motorists and not going anywhere. I don't think GTY will provide a lot of excitement, but will be a sound investment through the years.
Just bought 300 shares to start-I think I'll add more before the end of the week. I have a couple other things I'm not happy with right now.
I'm thinking of buying some shares before the end of the week. I just don't understand why this stock hasn't been doing better than it has.
Actually it was a special dividend. Getty paid a special dividend of .14 cents a share to shareholders of record as of Dec. ___, 2014. Paid in January along with the regular quarterly dividend of .22 cents. I think Getty is in a good business to own these gas station / convenience store properties. Those properties are so useful to motorists and here to stay.
Hi. I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Finance Kid. I just invested serious money in GTY. I'm a relatively young retiree living off portfolio income. I live in the northeast. I think these gas station / convenience stores are very useful to motorists and here to stay. This was a business I wanted to be a part of. Hope I made a good decision.
Thinking of investing in GTY. These gas station convenience stores seem like good real estate that is here to stay. So useful to motorists. Do you think I'm okay to jump in to this? An comments appreciated.
