Maybe they don't want good ideas getting out there before they have a chance to cover their shorts,. Then, when they decide the timing is right.....I have a totally cynical view of all media and their motives
why would they remove my posts giving Office Depot advice on how to differentiate themselves in the market place? For shorts? More likely, for Amazon and/or themselves, an online marketer! I call BS!
I should sue Yahoo for stealing my ideas. I didn't write them down because I thought they were safely published to Yahoo. Wow. They're gone but Yahoo has them. Pretty disappointing, to say the least. Office Depot could really use some of those ideas.
I suspect Yahoo cooperates with shorting groups like the Fool that has nothing supportive to say on this and a trainload of others that they claim to have "accurate" info on. Largely a big farce
Something is amiss here. Why were two of my posts removed? I wrote 5 or 6 "marketing" lines, or "copy" for Office Depot....suggestions on how to emphasize their competitive advantage over online retailers...and both of the posts are GONE. #$%$ is with that? If Yahoo is going to be like that, I'll find another community to engage with on finance and stocks.
What good would it do to "take it to the boss"? The boss is the problem if you haven't noticed. It seems to be a common theme with our officers and management. I'm not stupid enough to just go get myself fired. I'll just post what I want to and let people decide for themselves about the people running Office Depot.
Rubbersolarsystem, if you answer the following questions honestly and have any common sense you will know what's up.
Why are we paying Bain & Co. to tell us how to run the company?
Isn't that what we overpay Roland and his management team to do?
Do you actually believe that we are in good shape like Roland said on the conference call?
Why would Roland get a $40 million bonus if the Staples deal went through?
How much money have the last few CEOs made by the time they left the company?
Did they deserve that money based on performance?
And last but not least, Why do you care what I post on the internet? Unless of course you are a company shill employee trying to discredit what I'm saying or you are willfully ignorant?
I am here in Boca in the Corporate Office and don't have to lie. Where are you? You'll never figure out who I am, LOL. But when the time is right there will be plenty of damning information leaked. And when that happens rubbersolarsystem, you will either feel like an idiot or be out of a job. Office Depot will not exist in 5 years, that's the safest bet you can put your money on.

No, we're not all spewing hateful, slanderous BS about individual employees of the companies we post about. Anonymous and an @-0, they do go hand in hand, it seems. Easy to be a p and rick when you hide in the shadows of the Internet. Take it to the boss, big mouth. Take it to his face instead of spewing your drivel anonymously on an Internet chat board.
Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) is rumored to be interested in buying Office Depot's (NASDAQ:ODP) corporate accounts business. As that was the crown jewel of what rival Staples (NASDAQ:SPLS) was looking to gain control of when it sought to buy the office supplies retailer, if Amazon ever got hold of it, you might as well stick a fork in Staples.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Maybe this will be a turnaround story. Stores like Office Depot need to market their main advantage over Amazon better. That is, that customers can go to a store within minutes of home and walk out with a product in hand. Today, we like to buy on the Internet, yes, but we also like to SHOP then go buy at a local store where we can have the product in hand within minutes! Yes, I enjoy that and have purchased laptops, printers, ink, paper and many other items from Office Depot due to their convenience and immediacy.
If you want to join the big boys or big girls club then you have to go where they play. UltimateStockAlerts will take you there just look for their name in Google
Aren't we all anonymous on this message board? And as far as "Big Talk" goes, you might want to focus your attention on Roland's feel good conference call about how strong our company is with unicorns, rainbows, and magic fairy farts to save us from the same fate as Circuit City and Comp USA. Also forget the fact that he hand picked only "certain" questions to address during the call.
Hey Roland, I got a question. Given that your using a outdated business model in a declining segment. And also given the fact that Staples has much less debt, much more money, much more revenue, and much more market share. And also given the fact that you not only have to worry about Staples (who by the way, just put a bounty on your company), you have Amazon and Walmart to contend with. Now Roland, taking those "FACTS" into account , How do "YOU" plan on fixing "YOUR" mess?
Oh, nevermind. You're wasting more company money(kickbacks) hiring another company to tell you what to do since you have no clue about how to fix "YOUR" mess. After all you're just here to make a free fortune like the last few CEOs. Thanks Roland, question withdrawn!!!
