Listening to the last couple quarterly updates by the officers have said they are confident and ready to buy a smaller bank that would still put them over the 50 B mark BUT prefer a LARGE one which is very possible. Said they are staffed and financially secure Raymond James says $18.50 possible
No complaint here. However, I wonder if the current dividend can be maintained when the bank starts paying higher rates on savings and CD accounts. I also wonder if NYCB has sufficient cash on hand to finance future growth opportunities.
SIFI threshold is increased to at least 100 Billion by congress. This stock finally moves after years like trading like a bond. I could see it moving into the 20's with the potential of a buyback/dividend increase in the future.
