=== Biogen Idec Raised to Outperform From Neutral by R.W. Baird BIIB
I realized that I had better clarify before the rioting starts...ANY time that a patient dies from ANY medication, directly or indirectly, it is a tragedy, make no mistake. Condolences go out to the family of the patient. However, Biogen had the risks printed on the label (as do all pharma co's) of an FDA-approved drug with perceived benefits. And it has yet to be proven if it was the drug, pneumonia, or some other factor whic caused the death of the patient. Headlines are there for shock factor short-term, IMHO, and have no bearing on the company, its drug pipeline, nor its reputation until the full facts are revealed.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
interesting, when a patient gets PML they usually die within 2-4 maybe 6 months. If this patient had PML for 4 years then it's quite a miracle that the patient lasted as long...
This is a non-event! Cripes, the reading of side effects on tv commercials always takes longer than the benefits! ROCKETING TO $350 BY JANUARY!!!!
